Emmy and the Lightning Thief

Chapter 1

Hi Peoples! WaitingForLife2Begin here with an AU story of the Lightning Thief. Tell me what you think in the comments/reviews! There is an OC in the story, just to warn you. BUT THIS WONT BE A PercyXOC STORY! They will only be friends.

Dear Reader,

I could tell you not to read this. I could also warn you about all the horrible and tragic things that happen in these pages, but would you listen? Probably not, but I will tell you that all of this is true. Your probably thinking "Yeah I seriously doubt that" or "this is just some dumb fanfiction". Honestly, if I was in your position I wouldn't believe either. It really is true, though and it all could happen to you. So don't say I didn't warn you.

And if you are still reading,

Your a stuborn one arent you? Well I tried...kinda... Anyway, my name is Emmersyn Rohdes, (though I prefer Emmy) and I am only 10 years old. I've been through things that most kids would only have nightmares about and have met some extraordinary people.

4 Years Earlier

"Mommy, where are we going?" I questioned my mom as we were driving through winding roads trying to out run something, of which I know are hell hounds now. I wasn't too scared. This happened every once in a while but somehow my mother would out run them (even today I don't know how she did it). This time was diffrent. We couldn't out run them. We kept driving. I stared out the window and looked to see a never ending forest passing by. I could tell by the frieghtened look on my mother face that we wouldn't out run them soon I was feeling even more frightened.

"Honey," she replied trying to hide how scared she was," I'm taking you somewhere you will be safe from anything that'll ever try to hurt you." We kept driving with the hounds on our tail until we stopped at the foot of a hill. My mom unbuckled me and passed me my purple polyester backpack. She picked me up out of the car and kissed my forhead.

"Okay Emmy," she tried to say with courage while putting me on the ground," I want you to run up the hill and gets some help. Okay? Don't look back." She had her hands on my shoulders and looked straight into my golden brown eyes. Hers eyes were full of saddness. She pushed my dark black hair out of my face and hugged me one last time.

" Now RUN! I'll meet you up there!" She pushed me behind her back and I began to run up the hill. When I was almost to the top I looked back, which I immediatly regretted. My mom had pulled a sword out of her backpack and try to fend off the aproaching hellhounds. Then one of the hellhounds scratch her face, from her cheek to her chin causing blood to run down her neck.

"Mommy!" I yelled starting run back to her. All she did was gesture me to keep going up the hill. Which I continued to do until I reached a sign for a camp. I was astonished that I could read the sign with my dyslexia or read it in general. I stood there not sure what to do until I noticed two blonde kids, a boy and a girl, sitting with their backs against a pine tree.

"Hello? I need help!" I shouted fighting back tears. They both stood up weapons at the ready . They both looked around to see where my voice was coming from. They both stopped looking and then thier eyes landed on me. They looked about 8 and 14.

"Help my mommy! These monsters...they attacked us. She needs help!" I managed to say through my crying. He went up to me a kneeled to level our hieghts.

"My names Luke whats yours?" he asked nicely. Luke had short sandy-blonde hair and blue eyes. He looked nice enough.

"Emmy," I answered. I didn't like my first name, Emmersyn, so I never used it. Honestly, not many people even know what it is and when they did they never called me it.

"I'm going to go help your mother, and Annabeth here is going bring you to our camp where you will be safe.Okay?" He said gesturing to the younger blonde. Annabeth had curly blonde princessy-hair,grey eyes, wore jeans and an orange shirt that said Camp Half-Blood on it. She looked nice. I nodded in response. Then he turned to Annabeth.

"Annabeth I need you to take her to Chiron and tell him I need back up because there has been an attack at the camp's boarders." He told the her.

" And stay with her. Who knows what will happen to her mom." He began running down while Annabeth grabbed my hand and we ran through the camp entrance all the way to the building they called the Big House.

@RecklessDaring
Thanks i will go edit the chaper now!

Definitely off to a good start; I like it! :D
Just a few things I have to point out...you may want to fix your grammatical errors (makes you seem more competent as a writer), and there is actually a place to put your author's notes...you don't have to stick them at the beginning of the chapter. :P
