The Hope in Our Scars

I was surprised at all when I saw Piper that night, who casually strolled over to us, the moment we returned to camp. The campers are looked at us with upmost fascination.
"You must be Lilac Grace," Piper shrieked with joy. "I'm Piper McKlean, daughter of Aphrodite. I hope we become great friends."
I gave her my most sincere smile. "Thanks Piper."
She smiled. "Will, thank you for showing them around, I think I can take them off your hands for now."
Will frowned. "But I wanted to show them the Diner, forge, cabins, and-"
Piper gave Will a pouting, almost seducing pout. "Oh please, Willy. Oh please."
Will blushed a bright shade of pink before muttering, "Fine McKlean, but you better not get them trampled, or lost. On your watch."
Piper rolled her eyes. "Of course not, Will. I'm perfectly capable of this job."
Will gave Piper a sarcastic shrug, before Piper tugged on my hand. "Perfect let's go."
The others including Reyna, Percy, Annabeth, Rachel, and Leo were currently being herded back to their cabins. Only Piper and I were left standing in the dust. I could hear the sounds of chatter, and laughter. My spirits lifted as I saw the flare at the center of the settlement.
"Camp fire?' I asked.
"Sing-a-longs, by now," Piper grinned. "Do you want the tour of the cabins or what?"
I gave her a long look. "Alright I suppose, Piper. But don't try to get me to enter any of them. I heard from Leo, that I'm supposed to be claimed after a few days here."
Piper grinned. "Oh so you're already familiar with what happens. Awesome. Fingers crossed for child of Aphrodite.'
"The love goddess?"
"My mother to be exact," Piper pursed her lips in wonder. "That would make you my half sister."
I grinnned. "I would like that very much."
Piper laughed. "Me too. Come on slow poke, the first one to the Zues cabin is not a fried demigod."
I snorted. "Oh its on."
And off we both sprinted, blindly into the fading light, and into the twilight dusk.
