The Other Stories

Sorry for the interruption, but I'm seeing a new trend start up. I don't condemn it in the slightest. Of course, I can stand a few of these stories every once in a while. Only if there is a feasible plot. If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me tell you.

The top three stories are about sex. Pointless, sometimes badly written and hard to follow sex. It doesn't shape or give character development to any of the characters. It's basically porn put into words using our beloved book characters. I've seen about four more of these pop up in the new/updated section, and it's getting old. I get there are some of us who, for lack of better words, release using these book characters. While I don't support using them like this, thats okay.

It's even worse when the writer just simply cannot write. No this is not an indirect, it is direct to Seeking Happiness. I began reading that a year ago, unable to get past the fifth or sixth chapter because it was so hard to follow. It felt rushed and chapters were missing. Since I haven't passed that, I haven't even gotten to the sex. Electric kiss was another one. It's still on the popular page as well. Yes, the author gave up on it due to reasons I do not know of.

Now, I'm sure some of you will try to pin this on how my drabble (which happens to be a 26k) isn't on the popular page right now. I have resigned to the fact that people take more joy in reading about characters having sex than actually being together, or having adventures. My story may never be on the first page again, and it is barely on the second. I am fine with that, even if I wish it would be on the first page again. Do not pin this rant on me being upset by this.
I am not the only person who this has irritated, and that is an understatement. S/o to Torrissa Nikole (9/10 sure I spelt it wrong).

Thanks for reading this whole thing, and if you are thinking about doing a story like this, there are already plenty. No need.
