LUCAS

Heaven. A place that you humans think of as a paradise for the dead nowadays, with Hell being the place of eternal torture for the Damned. It wasn't always like this. It all began with Father. He created this endlessly expanding universe you live in, simply because he was bored. He is known to you mortals as "God". But before all this, before the universe, and the concept of Heaven and Hell, there were Angels. I am one of the 6.

We were the first beings that Father had created. He was quite pleased with His work. He created a place for us to live. It is known to you as Heaven, but we called it home. We grew up in Heaven. Eventually, Father became quite bored of our existence. So, he created the universe.

He created stars, planets, and life. One of every thousand planets were made to be able to support life. Only 1 in a million life-supporting planets actually have life on them. Father's favorite was the planet He called Earth.

He created two special beings, and placed them within his garden on Earth. They simply wandered around, without a need to eat, drink, or sleep. These creatures looked similar to us Angels, but they lacked wings. Nevertheless, they always seemed happy, as though they were content with aimless wandering.

He also created 10 groups of savages, and spread them out across the Earth. Only half of them survived. Unlike the two in the garden, theses savages had a hunger, and were susceptible to the elements. The groups that survived soon met. Some clashed, and some came together to survive. Soon, the remaining savages lived in one pack. They traveled the Earth, as if they were looking for something. Father watched these savages interact with this planet with the utmost interest. He was curious to see where they would go.

As for the two in the garden, they were soon forgotten about by Father. However, we kept watch on them, so they would not do something foolish. The only rule in Father's garden was that the two creatures could not eat the golden apples from the large tree in the center of the garden. They always admired the tree, but never got too close. They seemed to instinctively know that going near the tree would be dangerous. They kept their distance, for a while.

Soon, the male of the two, got far too curious for his own good. He got close to the tree. He was reaching up to take an apple, when I gently shocked him. He felt the shock, winced, but kept going. I screwed my eyes in confusion. Why would he not stop? I gave him another zap, a little stronger this time. He hesitated, then kept reaching. This fool! If he didn't stop, he would be thrown out of the garden!

I was forced to physically intervene. I flew down to the garden, and grabbed the man's hand. He looked at me in confusion, then tried to shake me off him.
"You cannot do this! You will be forced out of the garden!" I tried to tell him.
He couldn't understand me. He simply stared at me, as if his eyes could burn a hole through me. I had had enough. I picked him up and flew him to the rim of the garden, then tossed him onto the ground.
"Stay away from the tree!" I told him.
He finally seemed to understand, thought I don't think it was from my words. I flew back up into the air, past the atmosphere, and back to Heaven. I was utterly confused by the choices of the man in the garden. After all this time, why would he try to take a golden apple? Shouldn't his instincts have told him not to go near the tree?

I pondered this on my flight back to Heaven. I finally saw the white light that signified home, and then, BAM!, I crashed into something. I fell and hit the ground on Heaven, then something fell on me.
"Oof!", the air was knocked out of me.
When I finally managed to sit up, I saw my younger sister Anna.
"Hi, Lucas!", she said, cheerful as always, "Sorry about that!".
She hugged me, and I hugged her. I adored my youngest sister, she was so precious. I heard the flap of wings and looked up. It was the rest of my siblings. My two brothers, Cloud and Carter, and my two sisters, Belle and Jenny.
"Father has asked for you, Lucas", Cloud said with his deep voice.
I wonder why Father wants to see me.
