Of Vines and Men

Being in a plain white room, sitting on a barely soft cot that you can barley fit on is bad enough. Now, add feeling violated to the mix. Nothing actually happened, but the way I could feel their eyes on me made chills run up my spine and the hair on my arms stand on end. What made me feel less comfortable in my skin was the look in the guy's eyes as I was dragged off. They had gone blank, turned white for the split second. I could hear his scream as I was carried down the hall.

As soon as what happened registered, I felt my breath get sucked out of my lungs. I made him go insane. I guess my emotions took over, my anger....

"What the hell Sanders?!" A voice yelled through my door, a loud banging sound coming from the same direction. Probably the person banging on my door.

"It's unlocked!" I yelled back at them, and the doorknob turned, "There's a reason you didn't put the lock on my side." The door opened and Calum was back. I couldn't help but look at him with resentment, and I saw a pang of hurt flash in his eyes.

"You made the guy go insane." Calum said, his voice low and resonating in the small room. I stood up, not wanting him to see me disoriented.

"You kidnapped me." I retorted, and he rolled his eyes.

"I thought we went over this, Eve. You-"

"Were kidnapped by who I thought was my best friend. Who I thought I could trust. Who I thought wasn't a complete and utter asshole who is only looking out for his own skin! Who thinks with his di-" I began to cut him off, my voice raising. Anger flooded through me again, but I tried to hold back. I couldn't make Calum go insane.

"Shut up, Eve! You'll ruin this for me." Calum snapped, closer now.

"Really? Ruin for you? What about me, being happy at Camp with friends? What about Amira?" I spat, and I saw that mentioning Amira stabbed at him.

"Eve, Amira doesn't even-"

"She doesn't know, and that's why she's with you. Thats why she hasn't kicked your sorry ass to the curb! If she only knew that you're the reason I'm gone, that you're willing to kill hundreds of innocent people just so you can follow Luke around like a puppy! They say he has a way with the ladies but apparently you're not as strong willed as you claim." My hands shoved him away, ready to punch him square in the nose.

"Eve, you know nothing about why I joined." Calum shoved me back, and I almost fell onto the cot. I held eye contact, and you could almost feel angry electricity around us.

"Then explain to me." I offered, trying to make sure my voice was softer. Before Calum opened his mouth someone knocked on the door.

"Baxter. A word." Luke's voice filled the room, and Calum gave me a look before leaving.

'Midnight.'
