Camp Hogwarts

So I Guess I'm Even Weirder Now...

I woke up screaming that night.
It was the second night in my whole life that I had ever woken up screaming. The first was when I had gotten the letter telling me that I was a witch. Dad had flown out on me and Mom when I was young, and Mom told me that she was the witch in the house. I went to school the same year as the legendary Harry Potter arrived. I got sorted into Ravenclaw, and three years later, I left. School without literature that still made 13-year old kids write fifteen page essays didn't appeal to me. Mom homeschooled me since then. I had a completely normal life, avoiding wizard life completely and not caring about Voldemort. Until that night.
I heard Mom's thudding footsteps become louder as she approached my room. The door creaked and she said, "Lena?" softly.
"M-Mom?" I stammered. "I had a nightmare." She sat down on my bed after turning on the light, and caressed my dark brown hair. I knew she would listen. "I--a goat man was telling me that I was a de...a...um...I think he said demigod. Before he could go into detail, this giant monster barnacle thing picked him right off the ground and ate him. The monster didn't really seem to see me, but there were a lot of people behind me, all wearing, like, armor and holding lots of weapons. There wasn't one wand or anything, just really old looking weapons. And then they charged, towards the barnacle dude, and then...I woke up."
She looked at me with her soft green eyes, which matched mine exactly. "Honey, I think you need to know something." I gulped.
"What? It was just a dream, right?" I asked nervously. She shook her head.
"Um, Lena, your dad...he's a god." I laughed awkwardly.
"What are you talking about? He left us alone. He's far from godly, Mom." Her lip quivered. I had never seen her this upset before.
"No. I mean he's literally a god. A Greek one. That goat man was a satyr. We've gotta get you to camp."
"What camp? I'm seventeen. I don't think I need to go to camp. Besides, it's July already. I doubt that any summer camp will let me in at this point."
"Hon, you're going to a special camp. Okay? One for demigods like you. But you're different. You're a witch too. Oh, gods, they told me this would happen." Her voice started cracking. "You've realized who you are. You're in danger now. Okay, we've gotta leave. Here, get on a t-shirt and some shorts, and we'll get out of the house." I knew there was no point in arguing with her, even if she was going crazy.
"Uh, okay. Where is this...camp?" I asked, playing along.
"Oh, really close. Just over in Long Island." Since we lived in New York, it was pretty close. "Now, let's go." I pulled on a t-shirt and khaki shorts, and wondered briefly if I should call the police.
Nah, I thought. She's Mom. She's a witch. What's the worst that could happen?
Boy, was I in for a surprise.
