Once upon a Nightmare

My eyes flutter open in the bright light. A pang of pain runs down my forehead. My left leg twitches as something heavy is on it. Basically I feel like shit.

"What the Fuck happened?" I groan sitting up. I yelp in surprise when I see who is sitting on the end if my bed. Him.

Paris Athens. Then one I attacked. I can't really remember why I attacked him but I have a strong urge to attack him again.

Kill him.

That word rings through my head, That's not even my voice. I think to myself.

"I can hear it too," Paris says politely. I notice that his eyes are closed though. "If you close your eyes it helps them go away." He says. The voices are pounding through ny head and I can't concentrate on anything but the desperate need to kill him. I shut my eyes and the pain of the voices lightens as I can no longer see him.

"What is it, why do I want to kill you?" I ask straight up. I can't tell what he's doing but I can feel him moving.

"It's called, The Fury's." He tries to explain but I'm already lost and I happen to be in the running for Dux. That means I happen to be very smart.

"The Fury's, aren't they Greek mythology?" I ask confused. As soon as I say the word 'Fury's' I just want to try kill him even though he's like twine the size of me.

"Yes." is all he says. Then I feel the weight lifted off my legs and I sigh in relief as some of the haunting in my head leaves.

"Can you elaborate?" I ask meekly.

"No, you need to get home now." He says lightly. I feel someone pick me up and as soon as the contact comes to my skin, the Fury's scream in agony, wanting, wishing for me to kill him. I fall asleep in his arms. They're warm and loving. Also massive so I fit right in them.

This time when my eyes flutter open I feel better and there is no Fury's calling me out. No one telling ne to kill anyone. It's just peace. I feel a lot better even though I'm sure what at all happened. I see all the familiar posters in my room and gently smile. I'm guessing I'm home now.

I hear someone walking up the stairs to my room. The door opens a crack and when mum sees me looking back she opens it wider and greets me with a hug.

"Oh, honey, when that adorable young man brought you in here in his arms, I wss expecting the worst. He told me that you were hit hard and may suffer some memory loss, but you should be fine. Then you sleep for two days." She says on the verge of crying.

"Oh, Mama, I'd never let anything happen to me, you know that." I say weakly but with a cheerful smile.

"I made your favorite, Spaghetti Meatballs!" She exclaims before rushing out the door and quickly coming back with a tray in her hands.

"Thanks Mama, I don't know what I'd do without you." I smile and dig in.

We spend the rest of the day laying around together. She never asked me a single question about what happened. I was glad she respected my privacy like that.

What would I tell her anyway? I attacked the new boy at school, something insodewmy head told me to kill him. But then he pulled these tricky ninja skills and ended up on top of me before he had a tazer or something and shocked me. Then I woke up in his house and still wanting to kill him. Then he started talking Greek Mythology, it was a great weekend.

Somehow I don't think that'd go down too well.

When I walked into school the next day, the first thing I noticed was that people were staring. I'm used to people looking at me because of my height. But this time they were talking too.

This can never mean good.

I see Holly up ahead and start towards her. When I reach her I see her talking to Gossip Girl #1 and roll my eyes. When they notice me, she quickly walk away leaving me with Holly.

"Is it true?" Is the first thing that Holly asks.

Is what true?" I ask back confused.

"You know, everyone has been talking about it for the last two days, Neither the Athens nor you have shown up for school. And you were seen being carried out by Paris." She says with a wink.

"What?" I ask completely flabbergasted. I am so lost at the moment.

"God, Hailee, Did you and Paris sleep together?" She says. Woah I wasn't expecting that!

"They say that's why you attacked him. Because you two sleep together but he told you he wasn't coming back, so when you saw him, you went beserk. Then he took you home." She says like she's not accusing me of anything.

"Why would they think that? I want to kill the asshole!" I shout. Every one around me stops what they're doing and just looks at us.

"Well, you see Hailee, Paris isn't exactly denying it."
