A New Quest: A Percy Jackson Fanfiction

Chapter Two: I Get Two Nasty Suprises (One way worse than the other.)

We walked for about an hour, thinking about where Grover could be. After it got dark, we found a hidden patch of grass that was surrounded by trees. I took out my blue sleeping bag and layed it down on the ground. Annabeth did the same. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep. I woke up in the middle of the night after hearing a loud noise. As I looked around, I felt around inside my pocket for Riptide. I looked around once more. Nothing in sight. I layed back down, and went back to sleep. Hours later, Annabeth began shaking me awake.
"I'm awake," I said, even though I barley was.
"No you aren't, Seaweed Brain." She was right. I was falling back asleep. And there I went. Zzzzz, until Annabeth kicked me in a place where no guy should ever be kicked.
"Ahh!" I screamed in agony.
"Wake up!"
"I am awake."
"Okay." I sat up, and held where I had been kicked.
"Annabeth, why?"
"I'm sorry, but you wouldn't even wake up. It was either that, or I was going to dump water on your face." Water? I'm the son of Poseidon. I actually like water. I sighed, and stood up. Suddenly, I had an idea.
"We should try sending Grover, and Iris message," I suggest. I did't know why I hadn't thought of that before.
"Like he'd answer." But without listening, I grabbed a drachma from my bag. Then I poked a hole in the top of my water bottle. I sprayed it so hard in the direct sunlight, that it became misty. The sun shining into
the misty water, created a raibow. Great.
I threw in a dachma, and said, " Oh Iris, Goddess, of rainbows, please accept my offering." I waited a minute, then said, "Grover Underwood." Nothing.
"I told you it wouldn't work," Annabeth smirked.
"Shut up, Wise girl." I rolled my eyes. Annabeth sure knew how piss me off quick.
"I don't shut up." I resisted my urge to say, well duh! If I had said that, I might have suffered another painful kick. "Are you hungry?"
"A little," I said. We both stood up, and walked a little ways back into the city, with all of our things. W e walked into an empty restraunt. I'd tell you what it was called, but I couldn't read it, with my dyslexia. Was it even open? Just as I think it's not and almost turn around, a waitress apears before us, and seats us at a table. I ordered a burger with a Sprite, and Annabeth orders the same thing.
"Do you think Grover is okay?"
"I tried to be positive," she frowned. "So yes. I think he's fine." I shrugged. Soon our waitress brought us two plates. The burger looked good, and smelt even better. I had burger eating contest with Grover one day. I won. He ate four, and I ate six. If something really did happen to Grover, I don't know what I would do. I guess I would really miss him. I took a bite of my cheese burger, and it tasted better than it looked, and smelt.
"This burger is so good," Annabeth said, I nodded my head in agreement. My mouth soon became dry, so I took a drik of my soda. Then something happened that made me almost spit out my Sprite. As someone I recognized walked in, my eyes widened. I slowly started sinking under the table.
As Annabeth noticed my slipping, she looked at me witha smirk and said, "What the hell are you doing, Seaweed Brain?" I ignored her, and looked above the table to she if she was still there. Indeed, Nancy Bobofit sat at a lousy wooden table, with two of her ugly friends, all from Yancy Academy. My nose crinkled up in disgust. I hated her with a passion. I sat back up. Maybe she wouldn't recognize me, and she didnt.
That was until Annabeth curiously asked, "Percy, what was that all about?"
"Shhh," I whispered. "She might hear us."
"She?" Annabeth looked at me, obviously confused. "Who?"
"That's Nancy," I stated. "She's the one, who messed with me at Yancy Academy." I looked at her again, hoping she hadn't seen me yet. She had. We locked eyes, and I knew she knew. Nancy stood up, and walked over to Annabeth and I.
"Percy? Is that you?"
"Um," I mumbled. "Er.."
"It's okay, Percy. I'm not how I used to be. I'm actually glad I ran into you. Look, I'm sorry about everything I did to you." I couldn't believe my ears.
"Nancy, It's okay."
"Are you sure?"
"Really, it is," I smiled. "So hows Mr. Brunner doing?" I said, trying not to say Chiron.
"He left the school actually," she paused, "So where's goat boy?" She asked.
"He's-" I froze. "Wait whaat!?!" How did she know?
"Percy, I'm done pretending. I know Mr. Brunner is really a centaur named Chiron. I know about you. And Grover. I'm a Demigod too."
"Oh!" My suprise faded to shock, faded to nothing at all. "Who's your godly parent?"
"Apollo," she aid. "I'm actually coming to Camp Half-Blood, when summer starts.
"Oh. See you there."
"Yeah, good seeing you." With that said, she walked back to her table. I turned to Annabeth, not knowing what to say.
"Wow. Didn't see that coming did ya?"
"Well no, but I didn't see Grover disappearing coming either." We finished up our food and headed out. As we were walking Annabeth accidentally walked into a spider web. I wasn't gonna tell her, because she'd freak out, but there was a big, fat, tan, albino-looking spider on her back. With about eight of it's eyes, it saw me.
'Annabeth, promise me you won't freak out?"
"Why?"
"Just do it."
"I won't freak out."
"Okay, there's a spi-" I tried to say calmly, but unfortunatley it's all she would let me say.
She bagan runing in a circle, shaking her limbs, screaming, "Help, help! Get it off me!" As she was shrieking, I was trying to smack the spider off of her orange CHB shirt. She was screaming for help, and it looked like I was hitting her. Just great.
"Percy! Please help me!"
"I'm trying," I laughed, but she was moving to much, so it was hard. She bravely picked it off of her back, and threw it at me. Now the spider was crawling up my shoulder, and onto my neck. This was a pretty big spider too. About the size of a coaster, for a drink to sit on. It's albino look, made it even creepier. I stood still, praying it wouldn't bite me. Then I got an itch on my nose. Slowly, I raised my hand, trying to gently itch it, with out upsetting the spider. I knew that I had done something wrong, when I felt an excruciating pain in my neck. This spider had bit me. I don't know what kind of spider it was, but whatever it was, it was dead. I had thrown it on the ground and stomped on it, until each eye ball popped out one at a time. Green, nasty goo, oozed out of the spider. Annabeth turned around holder her stomach. I placed my hand on my neck, which still hurt. Next thing I knew, I was out like a light. I woke up laying in my sleeping bag. My neck was throbbing, and my head was pounding. It was freezing cold.
"Anna-" my voice dropped and I could say no more. "Annabeth?"
"Hey. How are you feeling?"
"Not good," I moaned. She walked towards me, and bent down. She felt my forehead.
"You're burning up, Seaweed Brain. Tell me what else hurt? How poisonous was that spider?"
"My head, my neck (Obviously), my throat, and my stomach."
'Not good," she muttered. "Not good at all."
"How long was I out?"
"A couple hours," She frowned. "How do you feel about Nancy being at Camp Half-blood?" I had completly forgotten. She said she was sorry, but I don't really know. The thought of her, and Clarisse in the same room made my stomach turn. Annabeth put her sleeping bag, next to mine, and layed down.
"I don't really know. I'm feeling a little paranoid about that." She leaned in for what I thought was gonna be a little hug. She gave me a bone-crushing-back-breaking kind of hug. I felt a sudden wave of nausea and I lurched forward, thowing up on Annabeth.
"Oh my gods, Annabeth! I'm so sorry," I said though my throat was hurting as bad as my stomach.
"Seaweed Brain!" She got up, and snatched a shirt out of her red bag she brought. She took off the dirty, orange, Camp Half-Blood one, and slipped on a black tee-shirt.
"I'm sorry, Annabeth," I repeated.
"It's not your fault." She rubbed her hand through my thick black hair. "Just get a little sleep, Percy."
"I'm sorry," I said once again.
"If you say sorry one more time, I'll make you sorry." I closed my eyes and let my body carry me to sleep.

Notes

Hey guys! How'd I do? The spider part seemed pretty funny to me. Don't worry Percy comes back around near the end of the next chapter. Stay tuned! (:

Maybe you could try to add have someone go missing and percy and annabeth and grover go to save them or somethig. then annabeth gets separated from percy and suspense... drama... suspense ...reunited! Yay
