The life of Kara Beckham

Just to get this straight, I definitely did not try to cut class. It just worked out that way. By the way, my name is Kara. This is my incredibly cruddy life as a demigod.
The day started out like any other. I got up, got dressed, and ate breakfast. I was excited. Today was graduation day. I was getting an award for getting the best grades in the grade. Basically the valedictorian of elementary school. I looked at the time. 8:30! I sprinted out the door. "Bye Dad!" I called. I ran down the street barely catching the bus. When I got on, I plopped on the seat that my BFF, Stella, was sitting in. "Hey." we said at the same time. we were that kind of friends. The kind that know each other so well that we could finish each other's sentences. "Are you-" Stella started. "Nervous?" I finished for her. "No, of course not! I'm only giving a speech in front of THE ENTIRE FLIPPIN' SCHOOL!" I snapped. Stella looked hurt. "Stella I'm sorry. I'm just really nervous that I might mess up." I said softly. We didn't talk for the rest of the bus ride.
When we finally got to school, everyone complimented my outfit. People always do. I guess I just have a good fashion sense.
We went directly to the gym, as we were told to do the day before to get ready for the ceremony. As the ceremony was about to start, I went over my speech one last time.
Just as I was about to give my speech my art teacher, Mrs.Hathaway, pulled me over. "So you got the best grades in the class, eh?"she said. "Yes I did." I said in reply. "Do you want to come with me? To celebrate!" she asked. "No, I'd better get going-"I replied. "I SAID YOU ARE COMING WITH ME!" she said in a reptilian voice. I watched in horror as my beloved art teacher turned into a horrid monster with scaly skin and snakes for legs. I was scared, so I did the most logical thing. I screamed as loud as I could.
