The Jupiter Spy

"Ryan do you think we should take a break from the game?" Dan asks hopefully.
"No give me one more hour I am almost finishing wiping the Mediterranean with the Greeks," I say without taking my eyes of the screen.

"Come on man all we ever do is play computer games like Rome Total War," he complains.
"It's not like you are much better since all you ever want to do is sword fight like kids. It is no like my life will ever depend on how well I can swing a nerd sword." My rant is derailed when I hear a window break downstairs. Dan and I lock eyes as he picks up my baseball bat lying in the corner. I dart over to my closet and I begin to look in my closet for a weapon. I hear a crunching sound coming from my desk. I turn around to see Dan chowing down on a Doctor Pepper can.
I stare at him in shock while he says "I eat when I am nervous" defensively. He bends down and starts prying my floorboards up with his fingers and cries out in triumph as he pulls out a bronze knife. He shoves it in my hands and orders me to follow him. We creep down the hallway as I wonder aloud "What the hell is going on?"
As I lightly tread down the stairs I see the cross between a beagle and a seal. Dan sneaks behind the monster and let's out a guttural war cry bring down on its head. Breathing heavily from the adrenalin he leans against the door and states calmly "That was easy"
He speaks too soon as a large thump rocks the door. He leans against it and puts his weight into it to no avail. Dan and the door go flying down the hall as a terrier seal barges through the door. I charge at the monster screaming bloody murder and stab it in its eye. It explodes and coats me in yellow dust.
I start dusting myself off when Dan screams "Look behind you!" I see the other thing getting to its feet and I charge at it. I pull out a wrestling move and double leg the monster to the ground. I stab the monster in the gut and fall to the ground covered in yellow dust. I hear Dan say dryly "Those were some unexpected guests."
