Mistletoe

Percy and Annabeth had just finished their first term at The College of Manhattan -Annabeth studying architecture and Percy, Marine Biology. It wasn't going to great because Percy could barely focus on the textbooks but being with Annabeth, fighting the occasional monster that came their way, meeting new friends, helping his father Poseidon campaign against cruelty to sealife, Percy was having the time of his life.
They were meeting up with the crew of the Argo II and the rest of the friends they had made from Camp Half Blood and Camp Jupiter. Hazel and Leo had planned a Christmas party to celebrate the beginning of winter break, it was at Frank and Hazels place in New Rome.
The weather was drawing in as Mrs Jackson parked on the side of the motorway.
"Have a great time you two, let your hair down,you really deserve some fun."
"Thanks mom." Percy hugged his mother and swung his bag over his shoulder.
"Thank you Sally," said Annabeth, "see you next weekend..." Sally grinned and pulled them both in for a group hug.
"Now don't do anything that I wouldn't do." She said smiling.
"Mo-om!" Groaned Percy.
"Off you go."
He took Annabeth's familiar hand and they set off to the tunnel.
The crossed the Little Tiber over the bridge and Percy thought back to the first time he had crossed it carrying Juno (Hera, whatever) only remembering Annabeth. She had cried when he had told her about that then kissed him so hard it was like she was never going to ever let him go again.
New Rome rose into view and before long Annabeth had taken her hand out of Percy's to knock on the door. Before she could even knock Piper opened the door and flung her arms around them.
"Finally! You're here!"
"Who is it Pipes?" Came Jason's voice behind Piper.
"It's us bro." Percy said as Jason came into view, pushing his glasses up his nose.
"Percy!" They fist bumped. Jason hugged Annabeth (bit too long for Percy's liking).
Frank grabbed Percy in a bear hug when they came into the siting room(lounge), decorated with Greek fire and Roman couches and gifts from Persephone.
"Good to see you dude."
"And you, nice pad you got here, Hazels work I suppose." Hazel blushed then quickly picked up an emerald off the floor. It matched the ivy she had threaded through her pretty dark curls.
Percy sat down and accepted a soda from Rachel.
"Blue?" He asked.
She grinned" of course "
Annabeth slumped down on the chair next to him and rested her head on his shoulder, a nacho in hand.
"Did you invite Will Solace and Magnus?" She asked Frank. In reply he gestured to Renya.
"She didn't think it would be a great idea, she's bad enough with Jason, so would sense the awkwardness..."
They all looked over to a blue velvet chaise-lounge in the corner. Leonwas sitting crossed-legged leaning back against the stone wall with Nico resting his tufty black haired head in Leo's lap, who was absently stroking him. Even Percy had to admit they were perfect for each other,even if he hadn't got over the "you're not my type" episode.
At least he was Wise-Girls type.
"You're right," she was saying. "It would be awkward, I would like to see my cousin soon though before we...." She slapped her hand, with green and red painted nails, across her mouth. Annabeth's yes flashed to Percy and Renya grinned.
"Come on, Annie, let's go choose the music." She said.
Percy stuffed his face with cheese-puffs and mince pies while watching Frank making Hedge and Nelly's baby saytr/boreus (he had no idea how that worked) laugh with a rendition of 'What Did The Fox Say', complete with animals.
Suddenly the music player (of Leo's invention, with a demigod proof Bluetooth thing) burst into life with 'Santa Baby ' . The party changed from a gathering to a rave. Leo, of course, in the middle of the room teaching Hazel how to 'dance modern'. Percy watched them chuckling to himself, swaying side to side, drink in hand. It occurred to him that it was the first time in a long time that they had let their hair down, managed to be themselves having fun without having to fight.
They had saved the world from Gaia, Annabeth had redesigned Olympus, Leo came back from the dead as had Annabeth's long-lost cousin Magnus. Calypso had finally been redeemed and became a goddess, Grover's fiancée Juniper was pregnant, and Nico and Leo had finally started dating. Frank and Hazel stayed in New Rome, and were taught in Camp Jupiter. Jason, Piper, Annabeth and Percy had all gone back to their respective homes to finish the last year of school, Piper has been Home Coming Queen!a whole year had passed and the Seven spent the summer and their original camps, before Percy and Annabeth had gone off to collage. A full, romantic year and a half since they completed the Quest.
Percy now of asked his ever-growing powers on the the drinks table, turning into a beautiful fountain. He heard a soft laugh next to him. Nico.
"Very nice Percy," he said smiling. Looking at Nico now, 17 years old, almost a man, happy, with a sister and a boyfriend, Percy couldn't believe he had ever been that scared moody little boy, obsessed with Mythomagic!
"Hey, Nico."
"Hey you. How's things?"
"Great, yeah, really fab. What aren't you dancing?"
Nico scoffed.
"I'm not a dancing person, you know that Perce!"
No way was Percy going to let him stand there hanging about the doorway with all this fun going on.
"Come on." Percy dragged Nico, weaving through the crowd to find Leo. Leo was in the middle of the room dancing wildly his tool belt shaking and his tee shirt riding up showing the 'HOT STUFF' tattoo they had persuaded him to get on Jason's 18th.
"Nico!" His eyes lit up and he grabbed Nico round the wrists and span him round. Nico blushed and grinned.
That were so sweet together that it made Percy's heart ache.
"Percy..."
He span round. Annabeth was standing behind him hugging her elbow. The light of the torch behind her lit up her golden hair, creating a halo of gold and silver and red around her head. Her grey eyes sparkled with joy as Percy slid his arm round her waist pulling her close.
"Look." She said pointing above their heads. "Mistletoe." She smiled a little half smile that Percy gently kissed.
"Wise Girl" he grinned, shaking his head.
"Seaweed Brain." Said Annabeth and kissed him, full on the mouth. The room disappeared and it was just them melting into each other. Percy and Annabeth. Under the mistletoe.
