Inexperienced

Nope, nope, nope

I had no idea what to do. I'd walked out on my mother and Megara, I'd left Aloisyus behind at Camp Half-Blood and over all I'd just been a total idiot.

So... Now what?

The library. That always was the place where I went to think, or read, of course. I really needed to think about what I was going to do now.

My feet carried me towards the library while I was sunken into thoughts. I had to make a decision. Would I stay a goddess or would I give up my immortality? And what would I be then? If my mother was right, and her immortality was part of who she was, was it the same for me, even though I'd never known about it?

A sudden thought made me stop in the middle of the road. A disgruntled elderly man shouldered his way past me, giving me dirty looks, but I didn't care.

Gods could change their appearance
.

I-what? Did that mean I was some kind of metamorphmagus? Did I even have a real appearance then? Had I been changing my features while growing up, slowing my growth so I could go for a human child? Subconsciously?

I ducked into an alley, determined to find out if I could change my appearance. I'd always wanted blue hair, but my mother never let me. Now, I closed my eyes, imagined myself with dark blue hair and concentrated. When I opened my eyes again, I didn't feel any different, but when I held up a strand of hair, it was a dark shade of blue.

Okay, that was kinda cool.

I didn't want to change anything else, because apparently my subconscious preferred this appearance. Besides, I was still a little hesitant. What if I couldn't change back, or if something went wrong? I didn't want to risk it.

I re-emerged out of the alley, continuing my way towards the public library. I got a couple of stares because of my hair, but I didn't care.

Once at the library, I greeted Mrs. Watson, the librarian. She smiled at me kindly and ignored the blueness of my hair. She probably didn't mind.

I climbed up the stairs to the library attic, which contained a reading nook. I'd grabbed two of the books about Percy from the cabin and I was planning on reading a bit to clear my mind.
However, I'd barely read a chapter when someone spoke to me.

'What book are you reading? Is it any good?'

Had I noticed the laugh in his voice, I could have known who it was, but I was too engrossed in my book.

Without looking up, I showed him the cover, nodded and read on.

'Anne.' My name and the seriousness in his voice did make me look up.

'Aloisyus!' I exclaimed, owning an annoyed look from one of the other people in the room.

'I'm sorry for walking out on you and not listening to you and leaving you behind and-'

He kissed me, silencing me.

'I'm glad I found you,' he mumbled against my mouth.

I suddenly realized where we were and pulled back. I glared at him.

'We're in a library. Do not kiss in libraries.'

I didn't actually mind that he just kissed me in a library, but people were watching.

'Well, then let's get out of here.'

As we walked towards the door, he whispered in my ear,

'Besides, I like your hair.'

Notes

Sorry for the late update:(. I'm not really happy with this one either. Let me know what you think!

Thanks a lot, that means so much to me! Because this is my very first story, I'm still a bit insecure about writing. All the positive comments really encourage me, thanks to everyone for that. And it's good to know that my FCE in Cambridge English is paying off;).

I love this story; the plot line is very easy to follow. And ditto to what @Edge of Tartarus said; You have great grammar!
