Inexperienced

Worry

Long showers usually helped me relax. This time, however, it did not. I'd stood beneath the shower for about fifteen minutes when I just couldn' hold it in anymore. All the panic, worry and fear of the last few days crashed into my skull like a tsunami. The sobs shook my entire body and I had to lean against the wall for support.

'Don't, don't, don't cry.... It's gonna be fine. Totally-t-totally fine.' I whispered to myself. Not that it made me worry less, but it was worth the try. I had stopped crying, which was good. I turned off the shower and looked into the mirror. Wet, dark brown hair framed my face and was plastered against my cheeks. My own blue eyes stared back at me, with worried frowns around them. My eyes, which were the colour of the sea in Europe. At least, that's what my mother said. She moved to the USA before I was born.

When I had gotten out of the bathroom and dressed, Aloisyus was waiting for me on the other side of the curtain. 'Are you okay?' He asked, a slightly worried look on his face. 'I'm sorry for yelling at you.' I sighed, drew open the curtain again and put a pile of clothes on my bunk bed. 'I understand if you're angry at me. I am.' I said, trying not to look him in the eyes. I feared what I might see there.

'Hey, I understand.' He lifted my chin with his hand. 'I would have done the same.' 'Would you?' Tears had started pooling in my eyes again, and I looked away hastily. I did not want him to see me cry. I suddenly felt very self-conscious. I was wearing the same clothes as yesterday, and my hear was a mess.

'Have you told Chiron?' I asked, barely audible. 'Yeah...' His voice trailed away. 'He wasn't very pleased, but he didn't blame you.' I looked up at him in surprise. 'Really?'

He chucked. 'Yes, really. It was your mum's choice to come here. Besides, would you not have called had you known the risks?' I did not know the answer to that. I didn't really know anything.

Aloisyus was still looking at me, as if expecting an answer. I shrugged and sat down heavily on my bed. 'It will take a few hours for your mum to get here. Let's go and try to have some fun, shall we?' I sighed and looked up to him. 'I don't think I can.' He smiled, and pulled me up. 'Of course you can.'

Notes

Ah, very bad chapter name. Couldn't think of anything else...

Thanks a lot, that means so much to me! Because this is my very first story, I'm still a bit insecure about writing. All the positive comments really encourage me, thanks to everyone for that. And it's good to know that my FCE in Cambridge English is paying off;).

I love this story; the plot line is very easy to follow. And ditto to what @Edge of Tartarus said; You have great grammar!
