The Inventions of Bunker Nine

2 Weeks after he had returned and life had settled down, Leo found himself thinking. What should he do? Life seemed kind of empty without the danger of getting smashed into a Leo-Cake by a Giant or turned into a Leo-Sicle by Khione or the Boreads. He almost half missed it. Almost. What should he do in his spare time?

It hit him. INVENT. EVERYTHING. EVER.

15 minutes later

Leo and his siblings sat in Bunker 9, talking about designs and other things. Leo, who had been replacing the melted section of Festus' neck while the conversation was going on, turned around and asked a simple, completely normal, (I'm not crazy. Don't listen to that guy over there) completely reasonable questions: "Can we make something that explodes?"

3 hours later

Leo threw the ping-pong ball sized sphere. It sailed through the woods, bouncing off of a couple of trees, before landing. Leo silently counted to five. The sphere detonated, releasing a load of thin Celestial Bronze wires, that spun and sliced through wood and dirt like paper. Leo silently counted to 5 again. The sphere froze, then retracted all of the wires and stopped. Leo grinned, while his siblings cheered and whistled. He pulled out a second sphere. He threw this one at a boulder about 30 feet away. It hit the boulder, and exploded instantly, blowing the boulder and the ground apart and a perfect sphere of Greek fire. The heat singed his face. Everyone was staring at the remains of the boulder, at the crate that the explosion had caused. They were all in shock. Leo chuckled, and pulled out the third and final sphere. He pulled out a targeting system, and selected a tall Oak tree as his target. The sphere lifted from his hand, and flew towards the tree. It landed, and detonated after 3 seconds. The sphere grew white hot, and burned a perfect hole through the tree, before floating back to Leo's hand. Everyone laughed, and together, the whole cabin headed back to Bunker 9.
