Death

Annabeth sat at her table with her siblings, chattering in low voices. She was so inversed in her conversation with Malcolm until she spotted something, or rather someone, missing.

She looked at the Poseidon table. There was nobody sitting at the table, more specifically her boyfriend. "Where the Hades is he?" She murmured to herself. She furrowed her eyebrows and immediately many thoughts ran through her head.

She decided that the most logical explanation was that Percy slept in. 'But he never sleeps in. He never misses meals...' Annabeth thought. Ultimately, she came up with the decision that at the end of breakfast, if Percy still wasn't in the Pavilion, she would go to the Poseidon cabin.

She nodded to herself and went back to her conversation with Malcolm about Architecture.

At the end of breakfast, Annabeth was starting to get very worried. Percy still hadn't arrived. Quickly, she returned her plate and jogged out of the Pavilion.

"That stupid seaweed brain. If this is some kind of prank I swear on the River Styx I'm going to get so mad..." Annabeth growled to herself as lightning flashed in the sky after she swore.

Once she reached the cabins, she made her way to the Poseidon cabin. Just as she was about to knock on the door, she realized she hadn't talked to Percy in a long time or gone on a date for that matter.

She grimaced, wondering if Percy was mad at her and whether that was the reason why he didn't go to the Pavilion. She chided herself, her pride getting the better of her as she silently blamed him in her mind for not asking her out in the first place.

Fueled with anger inside of her, Annabeth pounded on the door. "Seaweed brain! Get up!" She shouted and crossed her hands over her chest. Waiting impatiently, she started tapping her foot.

Grumbling under her breath, the blonde shouted once again. "I'm coming in Percy!" She rolled her eyes when she didn't hear a reply and she turned the handle of the cabin door, opening it.

"Seaweed brain! Why didn't you-" The daughter of Athena stopped in the middle of her sentence as she saw her boyfriend, laying on the ground with a pool of blood around him.

Riptide was stuck in the middle of his chest and Percy's face was calm, with a smile on it. At first, Annabeth thought an enemy attacked him but once she saw the smile on the Son of Poseidon's face, she knew the real reason.

"No... No, no, no, no, NO!" Annabeth screamed and a sob escaped her throat as she collapsed onto the floor. She crawled towards the love of her life, as she took him in her arms, cradling him. She choked back a sob, inhaling sharply. "WHY?" She shouted.

Shouted to the Gods for not doing anything.

Shouted to the Fates for cutting Percy's lifeline.

Shouted to Percy for being so stupid.

And finally, shouted to the world that the Hero Of Olympus was gone.

She lay her head on his chest, tears streaming down her face. Each teardrop falling on the Hero's chest. She took a look at Percy's face. So calm and happy.

She recalled every conversation, every kiss, every date and every time they hung out. How her presence made him smile. The smile that lit up the whole room. Her hands running through his silky black hair. His sea green eyes sparkling in the sunlight. Their lips pressed against each other, yearning for more.

And now she would never experience any of that again. No more of his gentle and calming touch before their hands interlocked. No more of defending each other from monsters, fighting back to back. No more of his deep voice that calmed her down. No more of his kisses. No more of his sea green eyes that showed love, care and concern to her.

At that moment, the blonde let out a cry of anguish and sadness. She sobbed even more, hugging the boy tightly before giving him one last kiss on his lips and three simplr words that if she had said earlier, would have made him stay and live.

"I love you."

I had just read the first chapter, tears are already starting to form in my eyes. It took my whole willpower to stop bawling and crying and acting like a 2 years old child throwing a tantrum. And at the end, well, I am finally crying while furiously wiping my tears so that no one can notice.

This is a whole story that makes me so sad but I can't stop reading. Thank you for such an interesting story
