The Hunter

Aight. I made a promise. Time to keep it. Percy thought as he prepared to go on his witch hunt. But first, he had something to tell Artemis. “LADY ARTEMIS?!” He shouted to the skies.
A few moments later, a silver chariot appeared at the horizon. Artemis stood at the reins, guiding her Reindeer to where Percy stood. He had donned his battlegear, and was ready to go.
“You called me Percy? I wished you hadn’t shouted so loud, I just got her to sleep.” Artemis said, gesturing to the baby Dryad that the goddess had taken as her daughter.
“Loud? I didn’t even realize. Sorry my lady.” Percy apologized.
“No problem. So I take it you had a question?” Artemis asked.
“Actually, I wanted to say I made a choice. I would like to join the Hunters as your assistant.”
“Really Percy? That’s great!” The goddess seemed to remember something “I mean, you’d better be able to handle this.”
“Under one quick condition. I can still see my girlfriend after I bring her back.”
“Bring her back? How do you intend on doing that?”
“I made a deal with Hades. And I have that instrument that Chiron gave me. Plus my anger. I’m going to find her killer and tear him to pieces with my BARE HANDS.”
“I… I will help and agree to that. I’ll get the hunters ready, and we can set out at dawn.”
“The hunters? Will they help me? A male, I mean.”
“You’re one of us now Percy. Although, I haven’t told them yet.”
“Lady Artemis, would you object to me giving your hunters a little ‘surprise’? Just to test them, it would be merely educational, not, say, for personal reasons or anything.”
“What do you have in mind?”
“You’ll see. Don’t tell them who I am, just tell them you have a new male member.”
“O...Ok, I guess. I can do that.”
“Alright, I’ll see you at dawn.”
“Bye Percy.”
She flashed out. It was incredible to be able to see the true form of the goddess without being incinerated, even though Percy was blinking black spots out of his eyes for a few minutes.
Another light flashed. Percy turned to the source and saw another immortal had decided to pay him a surprise visit. It was Dionysus.
“An honor, Lord Dionysus. What may I do for you on this fine moonlit evening?” Percy asked, all grudges against the god gone since Dionysus had helped him through the first few days after Annabeth’s death by giving him a shot of whiskey so strong it knocked his heart through his ribs and wiped his memories for the few days of his hangover.
“I wanted to congratulate you Percy Jackson, for being the heir of the creator. I am the one who should be honored, actually. By the way, Zeus told Apollo to kill you, and instead, Apollo wrote a poem about you beating up Zeus. He’ll be ok, but we aren’t sure how much magic it will take to clear the bruises off of his… nevermind. Anyway, most of the gods love you now. Even Ares respects you.”
“Wow, because it means so much what he thinks to me.”
“I always was mildly amused by your sarcasm, and now, since you are more that a hero, I can actually respect you.” He pulled a pair of shot glasses and a bottle of ‘54 whiskey out.
“To Fortune and Chaos’ heir” He said, filling Percy’s glass and then his own.
“To Fortune and Wine” Percy said, and he drank. Even though he was only 17, he had to say that this was the best alcohol he would ever ingest. It tingled in the back of his throat, and filled him from heart to fingertips with warmth.
“‘To wine.’ I’ll remember that Jackson.” The god gave Percy a pat on the back, and handed him a cheesebox and a bottle that both had the logo ‘Hercules Busts Heads’
“It’s a collectors’ Item. Magic. Cheesebox holds ambrosia. Infinite supply, can’t be stolen or opened by anyone who doesn’t have permission from you. Canteen does the same with nectar. Take this as a collector's’ medkit. Have fun.”
Dionysus flashed out, and again Percy had to marvel at the beauty of it. He started to feel a bliss emptiness in his brain, and before he knew it, he had passed out.

“The Poseidon spawn prepares to bring war to us. We must move further with the plan.” The first shadow spoke in his raspy voice.
“I agree, but we must not be hasty. He has accumulated power that we had not expected. We will need more strength in order to overthrow Hades and Olympus.” The second shadow spoke, in a deeper and older sounding voice. Both of the beings resonated with power. Any mortal would have been knocked unconscious… or killed.
“We must not allow the boy to be returned to the girl. The power of their love can turn back our shadows.” The first said.
“Agreed brother. We must wake Him. He is the only one who can stop the Hunters and their Mistress.” The second said.
“You will still be taking her for your wife I assume?”
“Yes. Whether it is of her own will or not, she shall be mine. We, the Erebai, shall rule once again!”

Notes

AAAAAAAAND THAT DOES IT FOR THIS CHAPTER! Things are starting to kick off… I am definitely going to include some people from Camp Jupiter, and CHB, and I’m thinking I might even have a full-fledged-The Last Olympian-type-war. That oughta be fun! And here’s Steve!
