Where'd the Girls Go?

Hades puts a hand on my left shoulder, Apollo puts a hand on my right shoulder. I shudder from their touch because as I mentioned earlier, I don't like physical contact. Hades breaks the silence by saying
"Apollo and I have come to clear the air since it appears to you, Maggie has been claimed by two gods."
Then Apollo says smugly
"Maggie is a daughter of Hades, but she is blessed by me. Giving her some of the awesome powers my children poses. I have decided to give her the gift of archery."
Together they say
"Gods of Olympus out!"
And then they both turn to air.
Everybody's staring at me say things like,
"She's a monster!"
"What a freak!"
I stand there mortified because of all the attention on me until I finally come to my senses and sprint back to where I was sitting, grab my backpack that had be sitting on the floor next to me, and take off into the woods with everybody at the big three table yelling a me to stop. I run farther and farther into the woods until I can't possibly run anymore. I set my backpack down on a rock, take my ukulele out and tune it. Then I begin strumming until it actually sounds like a song try to put some lyrics to it. I block out everything around me and start to sing,
"I'm warning you, never get to close. In case I am unleashed. Turn your back I me now, I promise I won't back down. You don't want me close, when the monster is unsheathed. The monster I'm talking about is, the one inside of me."
My focus is broken when a certain son of Poseidon sits on the rock next to me and says
"The whole camp is looking for you you know."
"Why? They think I'm a freak."
"Those comments were from Conner and Travis Stoll who are jealous of you."
Theo says.
"I brought you a little gift, curtesy of the Hephaestus cabin."
Theo says as he unsheathes the sword I told Leo I wanted earlier.
"Thanks."
I said, hoping to not get a question about what NT stands for until Theo asks
"What does NT stand for?"
"I don't wanna talk about it."
I say. Theo responds
"You know you don't talk much. You're kind of....mysterious."
"Mysterious?"
We both laugh.
"I can think of a lot of words for myself and that is not one of them."
We both laugh some more until Theo asks
"Then what is a word you would use to describe yourself."
All the words I would use to describe myself flow through my mind. Worthless, untalented, ugly, fat, unlovable, but instead I say the least reviling word about myself,
"Ordinary."
Theo gives me a puzzled look and then says
"You Maggie Tesfae, are anything but ordinary."
"Oh yeah? Name one thing about me that you didn't expect."
"Well you have the voice of an angel, and can play the ukulele better than any Apollo camper can. How many instruments can you play?"
"Eleven, and I don't have the voice of an angel. Singing just helps get your mind of problems."
"First of all, how can you play ELEVEN instruments? And second of all, you need to stop being so modest. And I didn't recognize that song, what was it?"
"I wrote it myself."
"And there is another reason why you are anything but ordinary."
He gets up and offers his hand out to me. I put my ukulele back in my bag, and take his hand but let it go once I'm standing up. Normally I would like to keep any conversation to a minimum but I'm curious and can't help myself so I ask
"You said earlier that you don't have a girlfriend, why is that?"
He thinks about it for a moment and then says
"Maybe it's because I don't impress anyone. My brother Percy's already done everything before me. And I don't put myself out there, I don't like being the center of attention. Also no one knows about my secret talent."
I feel a strange connection between Theo and I when he says he doesn't like to be the center of attention. I know that thought out of my head, after what happened between my mother and I, I can't trust anyone.
"What's your secret talent?"
I say, Theo responds
"Well, Poseidon is the god of the sea, and earthquakes. Percy has the power of the sea and I have the power of the sea and earthquakes."
"Well then I guess we're both anything but ordinary."
He grins at this when a bell rings.
"We better run, that's the campfire bell."
We both take off out of the woods and I emerge first then stop to wait for Theo. He comes out of the forest about a minute after me and in between heavy breaths he says
"Holy Hera, you're fast."
He walks over to my side and we walk toward the campfire. When we get there I see that all the cabins have there own benches and the Hades and Poseidon cabin benches are right next to each other. Theo takes a seat on the edge of the Poseidon bench and him and Percy start talking. I can't hear everything that they're saying but I do hear Percy saying to Theo
"Is that your new girlfriend?"
Pointing at me.
I sit down on the edge of the Hades bench so Theo is to my right. But to my left is a very mad Nico, and Hazel. They start rambling on and on about where I was and how I was unarmed and how now that I'm their little sister they had to protect me. That last one took me with shock because no ones ever really made and effort to protect me. They don't stop going on like this until Chiron stomps his hoove on the ground and says
"Since announcements at lunch were confusing and interrupted by Hades and Apollo,I would like to clear the air. Maggie dear, will you come up hear again?"
I reluctantly stand up and walk over to Chiron. He says
"Maggie is an official daughter of Hades therefore she will be staying in the Hades cabin. But she is also a rare occurrence because she has been blessed by Apollo. This means that she will have all the powers of a normal child of Hades but will also have, as Apollo mentioned earlier, his gift of archery."
He opens he's mouth like he's about to say more when a glowing gray owl appears over my head, it's the mark of Athena. Next to me appears Athena herself and she says
"You did very well at explaining that Chiron, but I'm afraid you've left out one detail."

ANOTHER CLIFHANGER!!! Sorry I didn't post yesterday, I was a lot busier than I thought I would be. So do you guys like the story so far? Is there anything I can do to make it better? Thanks for reading-daughter_of_hades_23
