Haunted

Chapter One

Darren...

Darren suddenly wakes up to the darkness surrounding the cabin, his cabin, the Apollo cabin. He grunts and runs his hand through his blonde hair. He sighed and rubbed his neck and for a second he left his hand on the expase between his neck and shoulder.

He sighed again and looked out the window, the veiw from his window glimmering in the moonlight. He chuckles thinking of his girlfriend Hannah, who through some supernatural circumstances was the only daughter of Artemis, and the gentle moonbeams relaxes him from the sing-song voice that woke him.

He glances out of the window looking into the woods and there just beyond the lake and in the tree line he sees it. His heart starts pounding as mist rolls in from the woods, fear striking his heart as if it was a spear pulverizing his body. He ducks from the window holding his chest and squeezes his eyes tightly shut as he tries to think himself out of it. His breathing becomes ragged and shaky as he can't hardly think clearly anymore.

Darren...

There it is again! That voice that sing-song voice!

Darren...

Darren wanted to yell, run, fight something and all he could shout was, "LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Darren, why don't you love me?

Darren yelled out and threw his fist and BAM! It met flesh, more like the palm of one of his half-brothers who was woken by his panic. "Darren snap out of it you're having a nightmare." Darren stopped his struggle and looked at him dead cold, "You didn't hear that?"

"Hear what Darren?" One of his half-sisters asked.

He glanced around at everyone who was staring at him, "That voice." Darren whispered.

"All we heard was you screamin' bro."

Darren looked at all of them bewildered still panting and heart still racing and he quickly looked out the window surely it was still out there and everyone looked out the window too.

After a minute of staring into the woods, "There's nothing there." One of his sisters said out loud.
"But-" Darren tried to argue but she was right; there wasn't anymore there not anymore, no mist no nothing.

"Darren I think you need some rest buddy." One of his brothers suggested. Darren stared out the window a moment long before looking back at him, "Y-yeah, you're right." he replied still shaken and he relaxed as best as he could and looked up his siblings still staring at him, "I'm going to bed I promise." They didn't move and Darren sighed turning over on his side, pulling his blanket over his head with a deep sigh.

Eventually he heard shuffling, a sign that they were all going back to bed and quiet. Darren frowned slightly, what he saw was real and he knew it.
