I sat at my desk watching the birds fly around the maple tree in the spring morning. One bird in particular was doing all sorts of tricks as if trying to impress me "Evanlyn what is the area of this circle" Mrs. Russell my teacher asked seeing if I was paying attention, not that I got math in the first place "um...." I said intelligently but was saved from further embarrassment when we heard a knock on the classroom door. I sighed in relief as Mrs. Russell went over to the door opening it. Mr. Andrews walked in followed by a boy around my age. He has dark hair that hung loosely around his face barely covering his dark eyes that were scanning the room as if looking for someone. "Sorry to interrupt Mrs. Russell but I would like to introduce our new student if you don't mind" He asked then after she nodded he turned to us and said "Hello students I'm here to introduce our new student his name is Nico di Angelo and from now on he shall be joining you in your classes and other activities". A few kids waved and other said a half hearted hello but Nico wasn't paying attention, for that last few minutes his searching eyes had focused on me and we were have a mini staring contest. He mouthed something that seemed like “We need to talk” but I wasn’t sure. I cocked my head trying to show him I didn’t understand then he angled his head out of the window and to the forest. I understood somewhat still wondering on why we needed to talk, he smiled then walked out with Mr. Andrews leaving me curious and confused.
