Months after
The talk
I sat in the living room while Paul explained what happened to my mom in the kitchen.
"I went over there to get Percy, and Piper said he just left." Paul's voice rang throughout the house.
"And he got a little drunk. What is the big deal?" My mom asked, dropping something. "Shoot."
"Percy... Percy was..." Paul whispered the rest, and I couldn't hear.
Mom gasped.
"Perseus Jackson!" My mom yelled. "get in here! Now!"
I slowly got up from the couch, and made my way to the kitchen, stalling as long as possible.
"What were you thinking?" She asked, her arms crossed.
"How did you know what to do?" She turned to Paul. "I never actually gave him the talk..."
"Mom!" I yelled.
"Did you use protection?" She asked.
I looked to the ground.
Paul looked over at me. "Grounded. Fore a month. Nothing. No TV, no computer, no Annabeth. You will only leave this house when you go to school. Am I clear?" I shrugged my shoulders, and started to walk upstairs.
Paul and mom kept talking. I got my stuff for school tomorrow, sat on my bed, and fell asleep.
I sat down next to my friends in first period, Social Studies.
"Dude, no way! You banged Annabeth?" Brennan said, clapping my back. "That a boy!"Annabeth was absent, and I couldn't imagine what she was going through.
"No way!" Jake said, and soon, everyone in the class was leaning in to hear the conversation.
"I don't think Percy would do something like that. He is too much of a good guy to do that." Bella said from behind me. A piece of paper hit her in the back of the head, followed by a "Shut up!"
"Look, i'm not in the mood to talk about this." I got up and sat at an empty corner of the room.
The entire class did the same.
Great.
At lunch, I decided to sit at an abandoned table, only to be interrupted by Bella.
"Hey, Percy. What's up?" She asked.
"Um, not that well. How does everyone know about the..."
"Oh, Piper can't keep a secret for her life. Me and her are like, totally best friends." She studied my face. "Want to talk about something else?" She asked, cracking open a can of Coke.
"Please. What happened during your weekend?" I asked.
She went on about how she almost drowned in the kiddy pool, got attacked by some bullies, and her grades.
She was officially going to be one of my best friends. She never brought up the topic again.
