The Librarian

I got to my feet and tackled Leo in a hug. "Yes."

Nico followed me, his eyes questioning. "How did you get here?"

Leo put me down. "Bombs, a car, some zip ties..." He smiled. "Let's get you out of here." He grabbed a bag that was slung over his shoulder, handing us both two small balls. "These are sulfur bombs, in case we meet anyone."

I took them gingerly, my wrists still stinging from the antiseptic. "How sensitive are these?"

Leo shook his head. "Sensitive enough."

Nico grabbed everything off the floor and the small table in the corner. "Doesn't matter, as long as we can get out." He shoved past Leo, glancing down the hallways before bolting.

Leo jerked his head to the side. "C'mon."

I followed Nico's lead, running as quickly as I could when I heard a crash and a huge explosion behind me. I stopped to see a yellow cloud behind me.

Leo came running out, waving the smoke away. "Keep going!"

I turned back to keep going only to see a huge man standing in front of me. "Oh no." I gasped, backing up before throwing one of my balls at his face. A huge bang, and he fell down, rubbing his eyes and squealing.

Leo grabbed my arm. "No time! Run!"

Nico was waiting for us by a door at the end of the hall. We slowed down to a jog. "What's wrong?" I asked.

"Locked." Nico said grimly. A yell behind us alerted to another guard.

I looked at Leo. "Now what?"
