For the first time in many hours, it was quiet inside the tiny New York hospital. Outside the night was still and quiet, the faint hum of busy New York streets the only sound disturbing the night.
The sudden wail of a newborn shattered the stillness like a gunshot. With a jolt, the dark-haired woman sat bolt upright trying, braving the cold as she hurried towards her son's room. Dark circles marred the skin beneath her eyes, and had ever since bringing her newborn son, Percy. Her hair was in constant disarray, sticking up in all directions, and she was the most exhausted she had ever been in her life.
“Relax; it’s always difficult to give birth to a half-blood, especially for a clear sighted mortal who can see through mist.” Said a lady with brown eyes and caramel coloured hair, glowing with an aura.
“They know about his existence in this world. They will come soon. Ï am not here to harm you and your baby and yet again I cannot help you directly cause of certain bindings. “the said lady said looking through the hospital window into the Newyork skyline.
She took the baby in her arms and held it near her bust. The baby opened his mouth feeling the presence of warmth.
She never had the chance to actually raise a child mostly because her husband kept eating them. She didn't even get the chance to raise her youngest child, the child she saved. She was a mother but never got to actually become one. When her other children were... free from her husband, They were already grown up. They joined her youngest son into battle and left her behind.
She still had so much love to give and comforting thousand-year old men and women wasn't exactly... comforting. She then had a great idea.
“It is quite difficult to suckle a half-blood and that too a powerful one. I can at least help you with that. Something I wished long will also be fulfilled.” She closed the baby’s eyes and glowed into her aura. The mother closed her eyes. She suckled the young one his first morsel. His first food in the living world.
"Oh, how I wish you were here," the mother whispered into the night, thinking of her lover .
The lady sat there for sometime embracing the new one to her body as if it is a part of her deep in her thoughts. Suddenly she snapped back to her reality.
“They are coming quick take the baby and go through back doors .I will delay them .quick “The lady said.
Percy was wailing loudly, waving his arms around as he screwed up his face and screamed for the warmth he felt.
Sally scooped him up and cradled his tiny form in her arms, making soothing noises as she hurried through the hospital corridors and emergency exits.
"You look so much like your daddy," she whispered with a loving smile, tenderly kissing his brow as her tiredness was rapidly forgotten as she jumped into the taxi.”Take me to the Montauk”. She knew this is the only place where they can be safe.
