Chapter One: Annabeth's POV
Percy sat across the table his eyes tired, and he ate slowly. Someone called for silence and we all looked up my VP, Mary Kay Benson, stood on the stage with a wine glass in hand. She wore a dark blue business dress and black stilettos and her wavy red hair freshly cut into a bob, I hated her high cheek bones and freckles, and how her icy blue eyes seemed to stare right through you. I was wearing a white blouse, a dark grey business skirt, and black wedges. My curly blonde hair out. Mary Kay was trustworthy and could always get the truth out of people, we had become close friends. My gaze drifted down to the ring on her ring finger and frowned ‘I wonder if Percy will propose one day’ I thought. Mary Kay spoke “Welcome, and thank you for coming. We are here today to celebrate the success of this company you all played a big role in the building of safe homes and buildings. Of course we all know that this success would have never been possible without our founder and chief Annabeth Chase” I got up and walked to the stage gave short speech and sat back down where Percy had been a note now sat in his place. I picked it up and read it. Dear Annabeth I got a call from the Office and had to leave. I have to write a report on the new sea creature we discovered on our dive today, its due tomorrow. Congrats on the success of the company and I thought your speech was great. See you at the house. Your boyfriend Percy xoxoxo. I folded the paper and sighed.
Nice!
