A Double-Edged Sword
Chapter One Continued
Upon reaching the end of the pier I sit down with my legs dangling above the water. The sense of tranquility I get from being near the water was noticeably absent. I lean forward to be shocked by what I see.
The water that my feet was skimming was boiling. I couldn't feel the heat, but it was undoubtedly boiling. The steam rose 5 feet in the air before disappearing in a a flash that looked like a dragon.
The water stops boiling and the water stays as if nothing happened. I stand up and walk backwards down the pier still confused by the event.
Deciding to consult Chiron for information on randomly boiling water and dragons. As I walk up the stairs to the big house I pass Rachel who was on the way out. " Percy are you ok. You look... out if it.". I turn to face her "Umm, yea I'm fine. Sorry to worry you.". I try to sound reassuring.
"Oh Ok." She replies hesitantly. As I walk through doors of the big house I'm immediately greeted by Chiron "Oh, Percy I've been expecting you. You have some questions for me, yes?"
