After I awoke, I had a quick shower, put on some clothes, took a bite of a granola bar, fixed my stuff and headed out alongside Annabeth. We stole a car, from the hotel parking lot and we decided to drive to California. In honesty, I was planning on returning it, but considering that never jappened, I just decided not to think ahead.

Annabeth sat in front next to me, while I drove the car, like a pro. I guess Poseidon had given me some help with that, or my few hours of practice with Paul's old car was good enough to keep me calm. When we finally reached Arizona, it had only been ten hours. I stopped, locked the car rewired the car and headed inside an old dinner to eat with Annabeth. We had been on the road for hours.
I smiled, taking her hand. Annabeth had fixed her blonde hair into a straight bouncy bundle. Her grey eyes even looked brighter, and she had even gotten changed into a lime green tanktop, my old blue jacket and a pair of shorts.

Once inside, I sat down and gazed at her hold her hand from across the table. A waitress came over and took our orders. She had a plate of ribs welldone and a side of baked patatoes with sweet cream and also a small helping of dressing. I on the other hand ordered a deluxe cheeseburger with everything but onions.

After a while, a man came and sqt next to Annabeth. At first, I could've punched, but then he raisee his sunglasses. It was none other than, Ares. The god of war. "Pipe down kid, I just wanted to talk." He smiled. What are you two doing here? I thought you were retired?" The soldier asked.

"We're making it perminent from monsters as well." I replied.
"Ok, nice to here. But like Chrysaor said, it an't gonna work." Ares smilee as he tapped the table and left.

After we finished eating, We were reunited with my arogant cousin again. He now was trying to hotwire the car, I had stolen. "Um, what are you doing?"

"Fixing this peice of junk, it's engine hulls slowly and the belt isn't facined right. Not to mention it squeeks when your break left." Annabeth smiled. I could tell Ares had charm when it came to children of Athena. She had that gleam in her eyes, like she did when she had an idea.

"You know alot about cars." I muttered. Ares laughed. He then turn to me and held an expression like I had insulted him. "I know almost all there is!" Ares said arogantly. Smiling mischeviously I nodded.

"That should be it." He smiled. After a minute the car shifted on and let out a smooth purr, almost like it was brand new. Ares smiled. "Take good car of it, this is a rental." He said summoning a pair of car keys. I smiled. "I know, I'm the one that borrowed it." After hopping in the car, I shifted the ignition put in drive and drove off towards California.u
