Sam's Adventure
Chapter 14
The next morning I wake up to shadow licking my face at 8 A.M.
"That dog of yours is a little monster" Clarisse says as I get up
"Hey Clarisse I'm sorry about not taking you on the quest " I say pushing shadow off me Clarisse shrugs
"Thats fine I need you on our team tonight though" Shadow barks But I hear her loud and clear
Sam your friends are here
And I turn to see Alex, sienna and lily
"Hey sam! Chiron said we could have lunch in the strawberry fields!" Lily says and alex holds up a rubber frisbee.
"I made this for Mrs O'Leary but she was to big for it."
I smile and walk over to my friends following them out the door
We sit down and Sienna explains that she Has never been a better Fighter sense last night and Alex says she's working on a new sword and Lily Explains that she will save her gift for emergencies. I throw the frisbee a couple of times until the conch horn blows for training and the girls get up.
"Coming sam?" Sienna asks me and I shake my head.
"I'm gonna stay here with Shadow. I'm not in the mood for clarrise right now." I say throwing the frisbee for shadow.
"Okay See you tonight at capture the flag? I hear Clarrise needs you." Sieena asks me
"Sure. see you tonight" I say petting shadow as she walks away
I throw the frisbee as far as possible watching shadow do a back flip to catch it.
"Sam." I hear a familiar voice say
"Hello mother." I say emotionless
She walks over and sits by me
"I'm sorry, About emma" She tells me and I couldn't help it
"You Were the most uncommon goddess Ever!! you don't even have a cabin here! Im not mad about emma! at least she's happy! but You could have at least Stayed to raise me! Especially Sense you have your Twin to be the God of War!" I'm crying now which is embarrassing so Im crying even more.
"Sam-" she starts but I cut her off
"No don't start its not your nature to be gentle and caring your a goddess of war after all" I say threw my tears.
"Your right its not but I do have one last thing your father is alive and embarrassed to not have told you." I look up at her with wide eyes
"You mean bill?" She doesn't answer
"I am proud of you my daughter. Your father is waiting patiently for when you get home. Who knows maybe you will go to the same school as that max boy."
"Mom!" I protest
"I am not blind my daughter but you have all summer left after all" She looks at me Grins then disappears.
"Atleast she didn't start glowing" I mumble
"Sam!!" I hear A boys voice this time
Max runs up panting
"Sienna said you'd be here"
"Hey max" I say trying to wipe my tears away
"Whats up? mom been bothering you?" he asks looking at me
"how'd you guess?" I laugh a little "So how'd it go with the match maker?"
Suddenly he doesn't make eye contact
"Sienna's Match would be that blonde kid Jake Walton."
"The Hermes Kid?" I ask
"Yeah that one" He said Smiling
"What else did the Match maker say?" I ask Practacly reading his mind. And he blushes
"She said that My perfect match would be you." He mumbles just loud enough for me to hear
I blush and shadow walks up with the frisbee panting
"SAMANTHA Hamper!" I hear an all to familiar voice yell.
"Ares!" I say bringing out my sword
"Dad? where?" Max says his own sword out
"Boy stay out of this!" Ares says appearing in the field a yard away.
I hear Shadow yelp and look down to see her On the ground crawling towards ares
"Leave her alone! " I yell at him
"Ah but dogs are my specialty they are my sacred animal after all."
"What do you want!" I yell at him and he falters
"I am here to punish you As much as they punished me"
"What did they do? Make you work here with Mr. D?" I say and he Growls
"They Are making me mortal for a year!!!" He yells like a brat
"So what does that have to do with me?" I ask defiantly Shadow is three feet away whining
"Dad just Leave!" Max says and ares sobers up A new look was on his face - Pity-
"I need your help." He says head towards at the ground "I don't know how to be mortal and I need someplace that I would be able to blend in." I waver The god of war was asking for help After he threatened me I was tempted to say no and leave him there but he looked so much like emma
"Ok fine I have an Idea but first I need to get back to my house" I tell him without making eye contact
Ares looks up
"I won't be mortal till sunset I can do that." He says and waves his hands and we disappear in a blast of heat only to land on my couch in our living room Shadow ended up on poor bill who was watching a baseball game on TV.
"Sam? is that you?" Bill says As Shadow gives him a hello with her tongue
"Yeah dad I need your help" I say pulling off shadow and setting her down
"This is my-"
"Uncle I know we've met" he says shaking hands with a very embarrassed god of war
"Hello you must be Mr hamper." Max says holding out his hand
"And you must be the boy who's crushing on my daughter." My dad says smiling and Max Turns as red as the flag.
"Uh Dad Ares need help
"so my dear uncle needs some help does he?" My dad says
"Your mother does not surpass me Do not-"
"Ares!" I snap " Nock it off, Dad what do you mean uncle?"
"Oh My mother is Athena" he says waving his hand
"Now what does ares need help with"
"Where is that fighting place that you took me to so I could learn how to use weapons?" I say and dad gets the message
"Down the street a bout a mile from school" he says "lets get going."
Ares waves his hand right as my dad reaches for the keys only to run into the wall of the building
"Alrighty in we go" I say pulling ares in my dad following
"Hey Sensei! you here? " I yell
"Yes yes! one second" I hear swords clash and a yell as someone hits the matt
"Come on in!" I here my Sensei yell
I walk into the Arena its a boxing area with swords and weapons on every wall.
Ares is looking at everything
"Sensei I have a new battle master for you!" I tell him
"Ahhh Samantha will you be joining us this school year?" My sensei asks and I smile
"Naturally, This is Ares he's looking for a place to stay and work for a year" I say and my sense shakes hands
"I'm always looking for good workers welcome to the group."
"great! I'll see you during the school year Sensei!" I say walking out the door ares makes eye contact with me as I walk out and waves his hand and me my dad shadow and max are all in the strawberry fields.
"Lets go I have an itch to capture the flag." I walk towards the Big house with my dad and max having an embarrassing chat about how to treat me.
