Chapter 1
Annabeth Chase sat at the boat dock at Camp Half-Blood. She was frustrated, upset, defeated, and most of all she was broken; her boyfriend Percy Jackson had disappeared again on this day a year ago. She didn't know what to do. She had stormed Mount Olympus with a load of other demigods demanding to know if Hera or any of the other gods were playing a trick, but they weren’t. Poseidon had many searching for him, yet to no avail. Artemis had her hunters working over drive looking for him, also to no avail. Annabeth had even set off on her own moving around the country in search of Percy for 6 months. Finally she was forced to return to Camp Half-Blood by the constant monsters. She came here to the boat dock and cried every night. She just wanted Percy to come back, and she knew he would if he could. Annabeth stood up and looked across the lake. "I'll get you back Percy, I promise."

The boy pulled his hood over his head and sank down into a crouch as the blonde headed girl stood up from the boat dock and turned and walked off. When she was out of sight the boy stood and pulled his hood off revealing a head filled with blonde and black hair. His eyes were a mix of sea green and dark red. A Greek sword hung on his back and he had a special sword that was disguised by a pen that clicked in his pocket. He wore all black with a brown cloak. He had been alone for a year now, all of his friends thought he was dead. He knew they were right, that was the old him. That was Percy Jackson, he isn't Percy Jackson anymore. He's Shane Harper, first in command of Chaos's army, and nobody could change that now. Not Poseidon, not Camp Half-Blood, and not Annabeth Chase. He was a Shadow Jumper now.
