Percabeth Drabble

Percy was surprised when he heard a knock on his cabin door. It was way too late for anyone to be outside their cabins, but he checked who was outside anyway. When he saw Annabeth, he was clearly confused.
"Hey." She whispered after he opened the door. He felt himself smile, her hair was messy, and she was in one of his sweatshirts. Annabeth's sleepy smile was still warm, even if it was hard to see her in the dark.
"Hey." He whispered back. She wrapped him in a hug, never leaving the doorway. They stood like that for the longest time. Just there, together. No monsters chasing them, not being stuck in Tartarus, no quests, just them. Annabeth and Percy in the middle of the night, together in the purest sense.

"Do you remember when you saw the zebra? Your face has hilarious when it talked to you." She laughed into his chest. Percy stifled his own laugh, not wanting to wake anyone else up. Who knows what trouble they could be in.Anyone could take this the wrong way, Percy shirtless hugging his girlfriend was innocent to them. The Stolls would make it something else, if they found out.
"Do you remember when you didn't break the rules? It feels like just yesterday you were scolding me about being late to rock climbing." He smiled.
"It was yesterday." She giggled.
"Remember when we met? Gods, you were so uptight back then." He laughed, trying to keep his voice low.
They heard a bush rustle, and they pulled apart. Percy looked at the hat in Annabeth's hands, and she nodded. She pulled it on, but not before giving Percy a goodnight kiss. Within seconds, she was swallowed by darkness.
