Percabeth Drabble

When Percy kissed her forehead goodbye that morning, it left a little smile on her face. She ushered their daughter out the door.

"I'll pick her up today, love you." He said as they went out the door. She grinned back at him, the sparkle in his green eyes telling her he planned something for that night.

Annabeth was left in a good mood when she dropped her daughter off at school, driving away to grab a few things she forgot at her office. It was only about a manilla folder's worth, but she wanted to study it a little bit over the weekend. A new client wanted help designing an addition to their house, and who other than the best architect the city can offer?

She stopped at a store to run errands, buying herself one of those bright pink drinks that her best friend seems to love. Some sort of energy drink.

Annabeth scanned the aisles, looking for tissues. Green label... Green label.... There!
She tossed it into the cart without a second thought. Then it happened.

Annabeth only saw black and white, just like before she met Percy.

She had froze in the middle of a main aisle, then abandoned her cart and rushed out the door. When she sat in the car she turned up the radio.

Car accident on Melrose- Two dead. Teen driver She sighed in relief. Maybe it wasn't Percy.
Hitting a blue sedan from the side. Expect traffic.

The sedan Percy owned was blue. She rushed into her house, looking for him. There was a note on the counter.

In case you got home with her, I went down to the shop on Melrose.

Annabeth wiped her eyes, flinging off the tears. He face was red and blotchy from her sobs, but she picked up her phone.

"Hi Annabeth! Do you need me to watch-" Sally answered, stopping herself when she heard Annabeth's shaky breaths. It didn't take a genius to know she was crying.

"Saly he- He got- He uh- Percy died."
