Percabeth Drabble

Annabeth wanted intensely to be home, in a shirt five sizes too big, watching reruns of Friends. Yet, Piper managed to convince her to attend this party. Annabeth even offered to be the Designated Driver, just to get out of drinking. Even that didn't work, considering the party with at Jason's house.

So she was a wallflower, awkwardly sipping at some soda. Alone. All the foods had some sort of cheese or peanuts in it, and she really wanted to go through the night without a bunch of gas and asphyxiation. Annabeth sighed, the music was almost too loud, and people were talking loudly nearby.

Someone leaned against the wall by her. She looked over to see messy black hair, a nice tan, and green eyes. He seemed just as reluctant to be there as her.

"Hi." She spoke up, noticing he wasn't drinking anything. Like at all, she was surprised.

"Hi. Listen I don't wanna dance. I can't, and I just-" He started rambling quickly, and Annabeth laughed a little.

"No, I don't wanna dance. I'm awkward and you look awkward, so I thought we could be awkward together?" Annabeth tried, silently scolding herself for using a horrible pick up line. The guy seemed to be relieved, even smiling a little at her.

"I'm Percy. Surprised you aren't helping yourself to the delicacies here." He joked.

"Allergic." She shrugged. "And, I'm Annabeth."

Percy smiled, "Same. About being allergic."

They stood there for a moment.

"What do you say to going somewhere we aren't allergic to the food?" Percy offered.

Annabeth smiled back at him, "Sounds great."
