Percabeth Drabble
Never
Annabeth laid there, unconscious. My stomach churned with fear and anger. I whipped around to face the monster, a drachne, and killed it. It was almost effortless with the amount of adrenaline in my blood. Someone emerged from the shadows enough to see a silhouette, but not to be identified.
"This can end now. The constant running and you can be happy. Forever." It offered me, tempting me.
"The catch?" I said. The thing laughed.
"Why is there a catch?"
"There always is." I heard a sigh.
"The girl." IT pointed at Annabeth. I turned to stone.
"Never." I growled through my teeth. The thing disappeared into darkness again. Annabeth woke up and we left, but i didn't tell her what happened.
Her head rested on my shoulder as we sat on the beach.
"I know what happened. Thank you." She said, breaking the soft silence. I tensed up.
"Wise Girl-" I started. She kissed me, a nice way of saying to shut up. She broke off.
"Seaweed brain, I wouldn't expect anything else from you." She chuckled at me. I felt a bit relieved.
"I would never give you up. Nothing in the world means more to me than you." I squeezed her hand when she looked to the stars.
"Are you sure?" She faltered.
"Annabeth? What is going on with you?" I asked.
"You know what I mean Percy. It is sweet and all but I'm finally realizing there will be another girl, coming along and beating me out. Winging the ultimate goal. You." She frowned.
"Never." I told her.
"Really?" She looked up at me, not believing at all.
"No girl could ever be better than you. It is literally impossible. The deal was happiness, but i needed to give you up. Forever. Nothing is worth giving you up." I reassured her.
"I love you, Seaweed Brain." She smiled.
"I love you Wise Girl." I kissed her forehead and we watched the waves.
