The Life of a Titan

We were in the throne room on Mount Othrys. My mother sat down in her throne, the largest one in the center. "Come forward, my son. You have done well in your fight", Mother said as she beckoned me forward. I knelt in front of her. "You are growing to be very powerful, Kronos. One day you will surpass you father. But, you cannot become the King if Ouranos is in the way. There is only one way to become the King. You must kill your father". The idea shocked me. Me? Kill my own Father? I couldn't. Father and Mother both had unlimited power. If I tried, I would most likely die. My mother seemed to know how I felt, because she said, "I shall have a special weapon forged for you. A weapon that is powerful enough to injure an immortal of Ouranos' level. You may have your brothers help you if you wish". I was to terrified to say no, so I simply nodded my head. Mother looked pleased. "Good. Now you may leave". I leave, still shaken. My siblings ask me what happened in the throne room, but I simply ignore them. I went to my chambers, lay down on my bed, and drift away into the clutches of sleep. I dreamed that night(immortals also have dreams). I dreamed about it would be like to be the King. I kept thinking about how I would kill my Father. Would I cut of his head, cut him in half, or chop him to bits? These thoughts woke me up in a cold sweat. I can't seriously be thinking about that, can I? It wasn't right. I decided I would try to resist the urge for power. Even if my mother was disappointed, or threatened me with destruction, I would fight it.
