Darkness

01.

That night, everything made sense. The endless field of black, the absence of clouds and the peak of the moon. In retrospect, it was better than the plutonic cleche that screamed romance. I scowled and gawked at the sky from my widow, bored out of my mind. Normally my father, would knock on the door and tell me to go to bed. But like every first tuesday of the month, he was on the couch feeling up on his date.

Glancing across my room, I took a step back. In a slow paced dance, I moved toward my drawers and pulled out a string-strapped shirt along with a pair of black sweatpants that had the word Darkness etched out on the left leg.

After getting dressed, I laid down on my bed, and took a deep breath. Closing my eyes, I drifted off into a world that was equal to hell.

I dreamed, I was falling through the sky, towards a mountainous region that looked fictional. On the earth below, I saw a legion of three hundred shades. They all looked at me in excitement as if I were a peice of meat falling from heaven. Then my body went numb and darkness overtook my body. In a jolt of speed, I vanished.

I couldn't comprehend it at first, but my body didn't vanish. It dematerialized. The atoms making up my being slowly scattered and reassembled in another location. But the darkness didn't just relocate me. It gave me power, It gave me new clothes and a different outlook on life.

In a wave of my hand, the army of shades vanished. I gazed at the grounds, to feel a heavy breath. Hot but ancient. It wasn't normal, and then I realized where I was. I was actually in hell. Or at least what the Greeks believed to be hell.

I was standing on the ruff, jagged skin of Tartarus himself. With a wave of my hand, darkness consumed me and I gasped.

In a breath, I awoke to see nothing but my room. Silence echoed through the house, as I got up and walked to the window lining. On a tree branch, a boy with crazy blone hair and light brown eyes sat. He held a smile, to which I held a scowl.

"Nice dreams?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes. "What do you want."
"Your dream, means something." The blonde boy said.

"Like you know what I dreamed about." I replied. Scowling, I turned. In a swift movement, the boy had pinned me down and held a bronze sword to my throat.

"Even though, you know your powers, you can't control them, much less summon them in reality." He replied. "You need my help, weather you like it or not."

"Fine." I screamed. In a wave of pressure, he flew away and caught a branch before pulling himself back up. Gazing at him, I saw nothing but a cocky boy. "What's your name?" I sassed.

"Dustin, my name's Dustin." He nodded. "I'll wait here every night until you decide to come with me, to the place where you'll be safest. It's best to learn from you're weaknesses."

Shutting the window, I turned around angery at the fact that he was right, at the fact that my powers wouldn't work the same as they did in my dream.
