The Guardian of Knowledge

08.

Florida wasn't anything intriguing. Sure it had many attractions. Sure it had tons of fresh fields. But Alexus needed more than just fresh manuer. He needed a peace of mind, which he didn't get stepping foot on Floridian soil.

After making it to Orlando, they decided to stop their travels and head for a local cafe dinner. The only thing about that was that there wasn't any cafe dinners in miles. Skulking it to a Starbucks, Diana lead. Alexus took a seat and hoped to all the gods the mist would morph his attire.

Ten minutes passed and Diana returned with a pair of biscuits, two expressos and a handful of jam. Taking her seat, she offered him one of each. "The temple of Apollo is close by. Although we need to move quickly because it shifts often."

"What do you mean?" Alexus wondered. "This temple doesn't have legs does it?"

Diana's eyes raised as if she were going to burst out in laughter. Taking a bite out of her biscuit, she sighed. "The temple moves around the state. Right now it's stationed somewhere in Orlando, although in a few minutes it'll move across towards the beach. We're on our way to intercept it at that beach, before it makes it's way to Tampa."

"So what beach are we going to?" Alexus asked as he took a bite of his biscuit. Washing it down with his expresso late, he wondered exactly what they'd meet at the temple of Apollo.

"Clearwater beach." Diana said. "It's not that far from here, although in this state it takes longer to travel, we should disguise ourselves as tourist and take public transportation."

"Yea," Alexus scuffed. "And We should trust that those Gigantes of ours are just waking up to play some soccer and meet the neighbors."

"All I'm saying is that we need to get there fast, so it'd be best to move quicker." Diana ventured.

"Sure, let's try it." Alexus sighed. With a last sip of his expresso, they both hit the road.

The bus stopped across the street from the beach. Luckily the mortals paid Alexus no mind in his loincloth and sandals. They raced down the sand infested staircase as they made their way toward the beach.

The coastline was dotted with millions of thousands of people. Many from different backgrounds and most could've very much lived right there in Florida. The water glissened in the day light, as they walked across the beach. Amazed Alexxus's stern and serious gaze falttered becoming more at ease.

"I forgot how soothing the beach was." He said with ease. His posture relaxed as he closed his eyes. He could've been attacked by anything, and he wouldn't have cared. Alexus was drifting on cloud nine while Diana was scavenging for the Temple's relocated coordinates.

"It's nice, yea." Diana murmured as she dug into the sands of Clearwater beach. "Alexus don't just stand there soaking in the beauty, open your eyes and help me look."

Snapping out of his daze, Alexus opened his eyes and glanced at the distance. "It's coming, move this way, Diana."

In an explosive earthquake, the temple appeared before them. It looked rather ancient and castle like. The cobbel stones looked fresh but still retain the same wear and tear as the temple of Pandora. Taking a step forward, they walked into the temple. The interior was amazing, it held various orniments that complimented the temple.

"Where exactly are we supposed to go?" Alexus asked.

Annoyed Diana glared at him. "For the Gaurdian of Knowledge, it's said if he continues asking for it. Don't you think?"

Reading between the lines, Alexus stood silent. He decided to lead the way, and have a look around his father's temple. The temple was impressive, but in fact did hold back. Alexus knew his father had more to offer than just prophecies. He was also the god of music and art. Apollo was known as the god of poetry and literature. Just a small temple dedicated to honor propheices of Delphi wasn't enough to be considered his temple.

"Here it is." Diana said as she grabbed an old ancient book from a pedestal in front of Apollo's altar. The statue was complimentary, in fact it showed the god in his glory times. In the primordial times where the gods didn't bare clothes. They were naked and raw. Apollo had curly marble hair and carved out eyes and physical features. His abs were chizzed to a moderate look.

Amazed, Alexus glanced at Diana. "Where exactly did he go?" He asked.

"Apollo often travels between the mortal realm and Olympus. He's probably doing something in Japan. I mean last I know is that Japan is the land of the rising sun."

"True, but do the gods know about the rising threat?"

"No, as far as I can tell the gods don't but they will soon, because Porphyrion will rise and Hera will vanish. As the myth foretold."

"Does this temple hold the prophecy of the Gigantes?"

"Propheticum Gigantes," Diana said in Latin. Alexus wasn't amazed in her copacity to speak Latin. Heck, even he knew latin for an Oracle of Apollo it was more her job to know how to communicate with both Greek and Roman demigods.

"Yes, does this temple hold it's secrets?"

"Alexus if you know, you'll expose the prophecy, you are a child of truth, you even know how to tell when someone is lying. You are an exposure of lies. I can not task you with a prophecy such as this. But, you will know about it eventually."

"Verywell, so what now? What do I do now?" He asked.

"Do you seek answers? You know what your heart is telling you?"

"It's telling me nothing. I don't seek anything. I just live." Alexus replied.

"Well, then it's time you return to your home then. If you don't know where to go, retrace your roots. Make it back to your mother and then start from there."

"Thanks. Diana. I'm sorry but as for us. . ."

"Friends. Just and forever friends. Alexus don't make it painful on yourself. It's ok to love again, even the gods learn that."

Nodding a laughter Alexus smiled. "Sure thing. Remember I'll always better for you. So, if you need help don't hesitate to ask." Turning around, Alexus walked away alone. This time, he didn't know where he was going, he had no plans for the future and hadn't decided on his choice.

Valerie or Diana, He had thought before leaving the first phlanax. Now he realized that either way, he couldn't choose. It wasn't a decision between chocolate and Vanilla. It was between two people he cherished, so he chose no one.

If he wanted to walk the path of an honorable man, Alexus had to start acting like one.
