Kat

Kat had planned it over and over in her head what she would do when she met her dad. But when he emerged from the shadows in a dark hood, bow in hand, her plan went out the window and she went with improv.

"Oh really? The bow AND the hood? Wanabee Robin Hood much?" She snared in her best impersonation of her snooty sisters.

"Katerina," He sighed, "I know you're mad at me but-"

"Well of course I'm mad at you!" She interupted, letting all of her rage out, "You never wanted me! You ditched me to fight for myself! You never cared about me! Just because of your stupid depression issues you thought you could ditch and I'd be ok with your lame excuse!" Tears were in her eyes, "Now you just come in and expect me to accept you after all you've done to me? Well you've got another thing coming! You'll never be my dad! My dad was dead to me long ago! I gave up on you!!!! Just heal my friend so we can leave!" She stormed out to the edge of the clearing. She needed time to cool down. She drew her sword, found a suitable tree and began to beat it up. Her strokes were angry. She didn't want a dad. Especially not this prissy Robin Hood wanabee!

She hacked at the tree for a good hour before Delia came over and put a hand on her shoulder

"Kat?" She asked.

"What?" She growled, sword in hand.

"Nico's awake, he wants to see you. After you've talked you should go to bed. It's well past midnight."

Kat's anger dissipated, turning into anxiety. She had almost forgotten about Nico in her rage.

"Ok" She replied meekly.

Delia led her into the small hut that stood in the middle of the clearing. The inside was like a Harry Potter tent, way bigger than it looked from the outside. The main room had a sofa and a fire, with a corridor each side of the room. It was a tidy house but had a rustic feel from the wooden walls and floors.

"The corridor on the left has the toilet, kitchen and our dad's room." Delia explained. "The infirmary and Nico and our bedrooms are on the right."

She led her down the corridor, pointing out Nico's room and the bedroom they'd be sharing next to it.

Kat slowly opened the door to Nico's room. He was lying on a white single bed in the corner, not white but back to his normal pale. Illuminated by a glowing orb of light on the ceiling.

Upon seeing her, he laughed weakly.
"There you are, back from beating up trees I see?" He arched his eyebrows at her.

"Oh, very funny. How are you feeling?" She asked, sitting down on the chair beside his bed. It, like all the other furniture, was white.

"Better. Actually better than I've felt in a while." He replied. "Especially now that you're here."

Kat blushed. 'What are you doing?' She thought to herself, 'It's not like you like him in that way? Do you?'

"You shouldn't hate your dad for what he did, you know." He grasped her hand, "It's hard for parents, knowing that you'll be in a lot of danger through your whole life. He was a powerful demi-god too. Him being around you would have made it worse."

"I don't care if it would have been worse. He should have stuck by me anyway. It's better a dangerous life than one without parents." She replied.

"I see I'm not going to convince you he's a good man but at least I tried." He relenquished.

"I should go to bed now. It's been a long day, too long." She started to get up. Nico pulled her back down. For a sick dude he was really strong.

"Stay a while longer." He said.

She nodded and sat back down. She fell asleep still holding Nico's hand.

Notes

A longerish chapter this time. What do you think is gonna happen next?
Ohmigosh I'm so hungry and tired. My mum pulled me out of bed without breakfast to go shopping. Now I like shopping but she's ditched me in the car for half an hour -.- Not. Fun.
Anyways please don't be afraid to comment. I love hearing ideas and feedback.
