All hail Delia, daughter of...
Delia
As she ran to dinner, Delia realised how lucky she was that Leo had been there to cheer her up, he had been so understanding and so gentle when she told him her story, she was still shell shocked from her talk with Chiron but she was a lot happier after she had had some time alone with Leo.
He showed her how to ask her plate for food which to her seemed a bit loony but it was still cool. She asked for a Greek salad with a tofu and vege stew just like her mama used to make. Eating it brought back memories of home, warm summer afternoons by the river surrounded by new spring goats. She smiled like an idiot. Sitting next to her at the head table was Leo who had been allowed to keep her company until she was claimed.
"What?" He asked curiously.
"Just memories of home" She replied. He looked at her curiously but went back to his burger.
She finished the salad in no time and Leo dragged her along to the campfire. Everyone started singing, she knew none of the lyrics but rocked to the music.
After a few songs Chiron interupted, formally introducing her to the campers. She stood up as he gestured to her. But suddenly everyone gasped and she looked down.
She was wearing sandals and a white dress, like her mama had shown her in pictures of godesses. Her hair was curled around her shoulders and gold bracelets shone on her wrists.
Leo was staring at her in absolute shock and surprise and Piper was openly grinning at her.
"All hail Delia, daughter of Aphrodite." Chiron called.
Delia was frozen in shock. Her mama was Aphrodite? Her mama was loving, sure, but the godess of love? She was beautiful and kind, but the godess of beauty? Why would a love goddess be a goat farmer? Why would she have been a singing shepherdess? So many questions raced through Delia's mind as Piper came to greet her as a sister, hugging her and leading her away from the campfire to settle into the Aphrodite cabin.
The rest of the night was a daze, smiling girls, lots of new names and eventually she just crawled into her bed, still in her dress, her hair still perfect, and passed out.
