It's in my DNA
A good cheering up
After there was an awkward silence on the porch for a while, Leo decided to break the silence by taking her on a tour of camp. He showed her all the cool things the camp had to offer; sword fighting, archery, canoeing, foot and chariot racing, even the lava climbing wall! But her sadness didn't go away. He showed her all the cabins, saying hi to Piper as she did her inspection but somehow they ended up at Leo's favourite break spot by the canoe lake.
"You know, I always loved coming here, it's like a break from the madness."
She nodded meekly.
He started talking about his quest to rescue Hera and how his mum died, he told her all about him, he didn't know why, but he thought he could trust her. He kept talking until there was nothing more to say. She smiled and laughed at his jokes and puns. Once he figured she was cheered up he changed the topic to her.
"Delia," he mused, "Interesting name, what does it mean?"
"'Of Delos' it was another name for Artemis but my mama didn't name me because of that, my family was from Delos, well my mama's adopted family anyway. She didn't want me to forget that I'm Greek." She replied, staring into the lake.
Leo heard the dinner bells ringing in the distance and he helped her to her feet.
"You'll find your mum again, and you'll find out who your dad is!" He said and he believed it.
She looked him in the eyes then dropped her gaze again. "Maybe... we should go."
"Ok, come on."
They jogged towards the dining pavilion to catch up with the other campers.
