Two Bodies, One Soul
Prologue
Delia
Delia woke up early and checked the date; June 25th. A hard knot of anticipation arose in her gut. She'd feared this day for too many months. This was the day Leo left her. And she didn't know if he'd come back.
They'd started dating at the end of January, when Delia had first come to camp. They didn't wait long before they started going out as they already knew each other from their dreams. Leo and her had discussed it at length and it seemed Aphrodite was matchmaking again, but Delia didn't mind at all.
After almost six months of dating, it was time to say goodbye. He was setting off to Greece, after stopping at the Roman Camp. In Greece he and his crew planned to defeat Gaia, the earth herself.
Delia was scared for his life on his quest. But she was also scared about what would happen when he was gone.
Delia and her twin sister Katerina wanted to give up the immortality they had discovered on their quest to find their dad. But they had been warned that they would need it to defeat invaders planning to attack Camp Half Blood. They had to lead three other people to defend the camp. That was their destiny. That was all their dad would tell them. For a god of sunlight he must be the god of indirect sunlight.
Delia didn't want to get out of bed. Maybe if she didn't get up she wouldn't have to endure the pain this day would bring her. She shuddered at her own logic and slid down from the top bunk, passing her sleeping siblings. She managed to get a hot shower for once (when you share a cabin with 20 beauty queens, hot water tends to be in low supply). She rushed out of the cabin just as her siblings were waking, shaking Piper awake on her way past. No doubt she was dreading this day just as much as Delia.
She bolted down the hill towards Bunker 9, where Leo planned to meet her to say goodbye properly.
