Two Bodies, One Soul

Last Date

Delia

Delia rushed past Tink and Annie on her way to the bunker, they were out for a morning walk by the looks of it.

"Where are you going?" Tink called out.

"Meeting Leo!" Delia shouted back.

Tink and Annie had arrived mid-April, escorted by a satyr from their homes in Canada. Delia had befriended them right away.

Tinkerbell (who insisted people call her Tink) was an average girl with long, straight, sparrow-brown hair and large silver eyes. She was pretty in an unachievable way and super competitive. That made sense since her mum was Nike, the godess of victory after all.

Annabell was a tall asian with long, dark hair which she dyed all kinds of crazy colours that you couldn't see unless you looked at her in the right light. She wore plain black glasses that just enhanced her pretty asian face and bright purple eyes. She was really nice and sweet but could take charge if she needed to. Her dad was Dionysus, Mr D himself.

Lia loved her friends and she wanted them to be the ones to defend camp with her. Chiron had told her she'd have to wait until closer to the time to make her choice. Sometimes logic annoyed her.

She reached the bunker, the doors were closed so she sat and waited for Leo.

He came running through the forest, crashing into trees and face planting a few times as he struggled to do up his tool belt as he ran.
She stood there, unimpressed as he stumbled over a tree root and crashed at her feet.

"I slept in." He said.

"Mmmm hmmmmm" she said condecendingly.

"Jeez, just trying to be on time for once!" He muttered as he opened the door to the bunker with his fire powers. Which Delia thought were pretty cool.

He invited her in and they sat on the deck of the finished Argo II, eating a picnic breakfast.

"I'm going to miss you so much." She told him.

"Hey, don't be sad! I'll keep in touch and IM you every chance I get! And I promise you I'll do my best not to die and I'll try to get back safe!" He joked.

Delia couldn't help but laugh. "And I promise I'll do my best to make sure you have something to come home to!"

"It's a deal then?" He asked. Holding up his glass of orange juice.

"Done." She agreed. Clinking her glass against his and kissing him. A proper long kiss with no interuptions.

There was a knock at the bunker door.

"Every single date!" He exclaimed. He was right. Every single date they'd had in the last month had been interupted. They'd hoped to break the streak for one last proper date before he left without interuptions.

"Who is it?" He called.

"Annabeth!" The voice called from the other side of the door.

"Fine!" He said. Pressing a button to open the door.

Annabeth burst in as soon as it opened even a crack and climbed up to the deck.

"Don't mind me!" She said. Clearly excited she'd be seeing Percy soon. Oh the cruelty. Annabeth would gain a boyfriend and Delia would lose one. "I'll be down in my cabin setting up my stuff" She headed below decks clutching a laptop and a suitcase.

"Alone again!" Delia said.

"Now where were we?" Leo asked. Pulling her in for a kiss.

There was another knock at the door.

"Really?" Leo asked. "It's open!" He called to the knocker.

Piper and Jason came in.

"Sorry, just wanted to make sure we weren't about to walk in on you two." Piper explained, climbing the rope ladder very skilfully for a lady with a large suitcase in hand. "Were we?" She asked cheekily.

"Yes!" Delia said. "Now if you wouldn't mind going below decks?"

Piper giggled gleefully. "Come on Jason!" She pulled her boyfriend below decks.

"So much for an uninterrupted date!" Leo said.
Delia tutted "It's not over yet!" She pulled him into a proper kiss, uninterrupted by anyone.

Leo pulled away after a while." You do know that you're awesome right?" He asked her, chuckling.

"I know." She smiled, leaning back against his chest and enjoying his embrace for a while as they finished off their picnic.

"I didn't want this to end." He admitted. It was nearing 10, the time he was supposed to leave.

"Me neither." Delia agreed. "We can have a proper picnic when you get back though. Just go out into the forest for a day, just us and a basket."

She sighed at the hope the idea created.

"We'll do that as soon as I get back." He told her. Kissing her.

During the kiss, Coach Hedge walked in to see the two cuddled up, kissing and he just about had a fit.

"Valdez, what do you think you're doing?" He roared from the bunker floor.

"I'm on a date, Coach!" Leo called over the rail, smiling, he pecked Delia on the cheek.

"Valdez! Wait till I get up there I'll-" He roared a string of threats too vivid to put on paper.

Leo laughed. "I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to hear me scream after you ripped my tongue out, Hedge." He joked, settling back down on the blanket with Delia.

Then he kissed her long enough for the coach to reach the top deck where they sat and see them kissing.

"Valdez, you're grounded! No dates until the ship reaches Greece!" He ordered.

"Coach, I'm not exactly gonna have anyone to date if I'm leaving my girlfriend at Camp." Leo laughed.

The coach grumbled as he made his way downstairs. Leaving Leo with Delia to say goodbye.
