One Day

'One more day, one more day.' Tink thought to herself, trying to keep herself from relinquishing into complete and utter boredom.
She was on her way to archery, which seemed to be the only sport her blessing would not help her with. She was only going to show up because Jack Burns had promised to teach her privately. She hadn't seen much of him since the fireworks and all they'd really done had been holding hands on a blanket, hardly an official date. But still, when a hot guy offers to give you a private lesson in something you really need help with, you say yes. In fact if ANY guy offers you help in a sport you REALLY need help with, you say yes. And Tink really needed any help she could get. The hot guy was a bonus.
She passed a weapons rack and plucked off a good sized bow and a quiver of arrows before turning her attention to Jack. He was shooting arrows rapidly, his tan muscles rippling under his camp shirt. He ran out of arrows before he finally noticed she was there.
"Hey." He grinned, flipping his blonde hair out of his blue eyes.
"Hey." She grinned back. "So we gonna do this or what?" Tink brought the bowstring back and pretented to shoot.
"Ok so two things," Jack said. "One, you're meant actually shoot the arrow. Two, you're holding the bow wrong."
"Oh?" She asked him cheekily. "So how do you hold a bow then?"
He placed himself behind her and corrected her grip. Showing her how to nock an arrow and release in one smooth movement. Tink had to admit he did most of the work though, his strong arms around her.
She turned to grin up at him. "It's easy when you do it."
He grinned back at her and met her grinning lips in a kiss.
Maybe this last day of boredom wouldn't be so boring after all.

I just wanted to have a nice light chapter so that everyone's in good spirits before the Romans come.
Oh, and my last 'book' ended up 40 chapters (I think?) This one will end up a bit longer, so sorry if you're sick of me by now but I really want to finish this.
Ugh! Back to school tomorrow -.- on the bright side I got tap after so that should be fun!
I just wanted to add this in; the photo of Beth in my character list is of one of my friends, she's almost 15 yet in that photo she successfully looked 9 :) just a fun fact!
