Two Bodies, One Soul
Bending Sunlight
Beth
Beth didn't know why everyone was looking at her like she was a freak. She didn't know why Chiron was looking at her mum with horror. Had she done something wrong? Why was she glowing? So many unanswered questions raced through her head.
"Bethany," Her mum said to her in a kind voice, "I came to claim you personally. I needed to make sure you wouldn't mistakingly get grouped with Eos." She glared at Chiron.
"Who- what-" She stuttered.
"I'm Hemera, goddess of day and light." She said kindly. "I'm a very early godess and many people think that I'm currently in Tartarus. Unfortunately my mother, Nyx is currently there, so I'm not." The glowing goddess turned to Chiron. "Can you give her accommodation in the Big House until a cabin is built for her?"
Chiron nodded "It shall be done."
The godess disappeared in a beam of light, leaving the campers in stunned silence.
"Curfew!" Chiron called as the campers filed out.
He settled her into a spare room and she passed out of sheer weirdness as soon as her head hit the pillow.
She had a dream.
She dreamt she was in a beautiful meadow with sun shining onto bright pink flowers.
"Hello child," She turned to see her mother sitting in the lower boughs of a maple tree. "I'm sorry I had to leave so early, I wanted to stay longer and talk to you privately. Fortunately I was able to call in a favour from Morpheus and talk to you now."
Beth nodded, she didn't have anything to say to her primeval mother.
Hemera jumped doen from the tree. "Beth, as my first demi-god child you have special powers, gifts. You can bring light to dark places, you can be healed by sunlight, you can create things from light."
"How?" Beth asked, deciding that in this world anything is possible.
"I'll show you, first, control the light."
Her mother plucked a strand of sunlight from the air and she copied the motion.
"Very good. Now, to change the sunlight's form just imagine it as something different." Her mother held a white teacup.
Beth created a silver necklace.
"Good, you can create anything inanimate, very useful. Now, whenever you are injured just find direct sunlight and I will heal you. My gift to you. Lastly, to create light when there is dark, just use your mind, and remember, there is no dark, just the absence of light.
Beth started to ask more but woke to a knock on her door.
She let in a girl who introduced herself as Fia, daughter of Athena, here to sketch ideas for a cabin of Hemera.

Notes
It's insane how little genuine information there is on the internet! Consequentially most of this is made up but in most pics I found Hemera was blonde with light eyes.I hope you're enjoying it so far, please comment!
