Mortal or demigod?

at the top of the hill it looks like theres a, um, anaconda? why do they have an anaconda and why is it below a… Jacket?
I carefully walk towards the snake. don't ask me why, I just felt like defying death, Not my fault.
Ok thats a lie, as I reach toward the snake it shimmers like one of those cards that change pictures as you shift their position.
"Hey! get away from him! he'll bite you!" I jerk my hand back and look up
"Hey is this Camp half blood I got a letter saying to come here?" I say to the girl walking up to me
"Yeah, I'm Katie Luxemburg Daughter of athena, Why were you trying to pet our dragon?"
I look up at this
"Dragon? okay…" She stares at me.
"yeah dragon. What'd you think it was?"
"An anaconda why?"
"Your joking."
"Nope"
"okay Hecate must really hate you or like you."
"What do you mean?"
"Ok. Listen let me see your letter" I hand Katie the Letter
"Holy styx this is a new way to bring them. I wonder who your godly parent is?"
"Um I don't have one I have 2 parents."
"well then one of them are lying."
"I think I would know bye now"
She shrugs
"Suit yourself" Now lets go meet chiron.
I follow her carefully avoiding the anaconda/dragon
"So all those books by Rick Riordan are real?" I ask Katie
"Yeah! intact Rick is the only mortal here in camp halfblood other than rachel"
"Ok so wheres percy now?"
"He's probably in his cabin cleaning."
"So what am I doing here?" I ask walking down the hill.
" I have no idea. hey whats your name anyway?"
"Amber. so where would I be staying if I do anyway?"
"With the hermes kids. Don't worry Its not as packed anymore. Theres hardly any overnight.campers you should be claimed at the camp fire. tonight"
"Thanks for not letting me get eaten"
