The Two That Went Missing

I woke up with a sigh and looked to the left where Julia sat shaking me.
" I woke up when I heard screaming, I followed the noise, but I can't find anything, and I can’t find Nico we got to search for him." That's all I needed, I bolted to my feet.
" Can Drakon track this? " she handed me a piece of what I believe to be his shirt.
I nodded
"Probably." With that, we ran out of the old school to where Drakon laid. He raised his head
" Hey boy, can you track this for me?" I placed the cloth in front of his nose. He sniffed it and ran of to the left, Julia and I followed close behind. Drakon stopped at the entrance to a dark forest.
" Why'd he stop? " Julia asked.
I looked at Drakon and said
" What's wrong boy?" He shook his head frantically. Nico was definitely in there, but whatever was in there with him scared a dragon and were gonna have to go in after him.
" We go by foot,Drakon wait here."
“Great, we are going in to a creepy dark forest, that a 300 pound dragon doesn’t even want to go in, can’t we just lea-” Julia added
“No”
With a sigh from Julia, we headed into the dark forest, weapons ready.
We went deeper and deeper into the forest until we started to hear voices grow.they were unclear, so we moved closer till we could see. And let me tell you the sight wasn't pretty. There were about 20 to 25 dwarf monsters gathered around what looked to be a make-shift rotary, you know the things that have the person tied in the middle and being spinned with the handle. The worst part Nico was the one tied up. To make sure we wouldn't be seen, we lifted our selves up into the closest tree. I turned to Julia and she whispered
" Kobalos, I think" I nodded recalling the mischievous dwarf monsters who use trickery to lure in victims. There were many of them and we could fight them, but we had never run into them before, so we didn't know what they would do. I turned to Julia who smirked at me. At that point we both knew that we would have to out trick them.


We devised an elaborate plan to save Nico and put it into action. We both leaped out of the tree and walked straight into their camp. I spoke first shaking my head and pretending to right on a clipboard I found in the school
" Just as I thought, unsanitary" I received many hisses, but kept up the act. Julia then spoke
" Yup, I suppose you were right, the ones in Vermont were much better." The dwarves growled and a big one, their leader I'm guessing, stepped forward and growled
"Who are you to judge us, to our measly cousins" I looked at Julia and we both laughed hysterically and then turned deadly serious
" I mean, we are the authorized inspectors of all the Kobalos group." Julia had a disappointed look on her face, she pulled out a black leather wallet looking thing and flipped it open to reveal a badge, it said special on the top and police on the bottom with a star in the middle, it was made out of plastic, she quickly flipped it up with the disappointed look still on her face.
" The ones in Vermont new exactly who we were." I tisked at the leader and said as I wrote on my clipboard
" That's gonna cost you some points." The leader looked around at the others who were mumbling and said
" I was merely joking, I know exactly who you are, I just wasn't sure when you were coming." he said, his voice shaky with all the other dwarfs snickering around us, Julia looked at him and asked
"So how many victims have you've been getting? " He replied
" Well many almost three everyday" I looked at him suspiciously and said
" Lies, we already know the answer, it was to see if you were honest, and even if you didn't know we were coming here, you should of at least made a descent rotary" Julia nodded continuing
" Yes I'm afraid we rather know all about your poor trickery and that it was the cause of the school closing." He frowned and said
" That was not our fault! it would have happened eventually!" I sighed and said
" If you had been more careful, the school would be open today." He frowned again and said
" Why you are right, how do we improve?" All the others shaking there head in agreement, Julia spoke
" Well I would start by... starting over actually and since your starting, over let that catch go." His face turned suspicious and said
"Why would I let him go, I tricked him, a demigod, son of Hades himself!" I sighed
"So nieve ... your right congratulations an amazing catch, I must say, pat yourselves on the back and then slap yourself and come to your senses." Their proud looks turned to confusion.
Julia looked at them and said
"He is the son of Hades and as much as you deny, it one day someone is going to kill you all and send you to Tartarus, which is bad enough. Do you honestly think killing and eating the son of Hades will please the god of the Underworld, Hades?, I wouldn’t want to be you."
They looked around scared at the mention of Tartarus. The leader spoke
" Why your right thank you for enlightening us to this possibility." He walked over and untied Nico from the rotary, guiding him in front of us, and was ready to speak and then paused, sniffed and said
" You two smell awfully like ... demigod" Julia and I looked at each other and said simultaneously ...
" That's cause we are" he looked taken back. I spoke
" Children of Hermes of course."

Whew, that was a close one, but they didn't make it out of there just yet...
