Secrets

I woke up the next day, tired and groggy. I saw a fire going off in my room and immediately sprung out of bed, screaming "Fire! Fire!", before Mira clamped my mouth shut with a warm hand.
"Shhhh," she whispered to me, "You're gonna wake everyone up!"
I rolled my eyes. Who's really going to care if you wake them up when a FIRE is rampaging your dorm room?
"Why is there a fire raging in our bedroom?" I tried my best to restrain from screaming at Mira.
"I controlled it, silly, it can't kill us." Mira left me with that thought, stopped the fire, and exited the room.
Instead of going crazy, I tried to think of rational reasons how or why she could do this. Are there any demigods, or gods, or goddesses for that matter, who can control fire? And why would Mira, of all, be one of them? I decided to do some research on the subject. I jumped on my computer and Google searched: greek goddess of fire. I had remembered Khione talking about her nemesis a while back, and that she was a goddess. I knew fire had to do with it, otherwise she wouldn't be Khione's nemesis. The first search result was of a goddess named Hestia, and I clicked. It said, she controlled hearths, and was sort of like the goddess of home. It took a second to process it, but I figured what Mira was. Or who Mira was.
"MIRA!!!!! Get in here!" I shouted into the study room for her.
Mira stumbled into the room, looking a little startled.
"What?" She asked. She acted completely oblivious to the fact that I knew who she was.
"I know who you really are," I said mysteriously.
She reeled back, and then recovered saying "Time for breakfast!"
We both raced out of the room to the dining room, to eat some pancakes, bacon, sausage, and a ton of other stuff that was probably totally unhealthy but who cared. We grabbed a table near the back, and Mira started to talk about Mark, probably to distract me about her real identity.
"Soooo, seriously. Do you like Mark?" Mira asked knowingly.
I slammed my hands down on the table. "I told you, I don't like Mark!"
"Watch it, ice girl," Mira said, pointing at a sliver of ice that had come out of my hand.
I groaned. "But still, I don't like him!!! Why do you think that?"
Mira shrugged. "I don't know. But to help you, here," and Mira proceeded to melt the ice off the table.
"Thanks, I guess," I said suspiciously. I wondered why she was so open about her powers if she kept denying the fact she had any. Because I knew who she was. This confirmed it.
She was Hestia.
