My journey

All of the Athena team and I get into our positions. The horn blows, and I hear the clashing of swords and battle cries. Annabeth motions for me to be quiet. Suddenly I hear a rustle in the bushes. I slowly draw my sword only to find a squirrel scamper out. I blush feeling totally embarrassed. Annabeth nods her head for me to come over. I see that she sees our flag and a girl with brown hair about to grab it. Without thinking, I jump down and unsheathe my sword. She does the same.

"Well I see that they put the newbie on flag duty. I can't believe Annabeth would do that. The name's Clarisse. I'm your worst nightmare."

"I've seen uglier monsters than you, so you have nothing to worry about." I smirk and sidestep as she charges at me.

Annabeth hops down from her tree. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, even if she is like a monster." She says laughing

Clarisse runs toward Annabeth while she's distracted. I run in between them and start battling Clarisse.

"You'll never defeat me! I am a daughter of Ares, God of War!!!"

Oh gods I am toast, but I can't let Annabeth down.

"I am a daughter of Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, Arts and Crafts and lets not forget Battle Strategy!!!" I yell

Our swords clash and soon enough Annabeth is back on her feet. Also, everyone comes over here fighting and hurting each other.

"Don't test the children of Ares!" She yells. Clarisse has her sword against the back of my neck and her hand up to the front of my throat.

"Yeah, and don't test the children of Athena." I say calmly. I duck down, grab her ankle and put my sword against her neck. Then I grabbed her sword that fell and put that against her neck also. Clarisse struggles to get free. I could hurt her then and there but I hand her the sword. Everyone gasps.

"Yeah that happened now anyone wanna take me on before I grab your flag?" I ask

No one answers. They lead me to their flag. I pick it up out of the dirt and everyone cheers. Annabeth particularly smiling.
