The End Of The World

My head hit a rock, and I awoke. The rain stopped, and I was still in a deep ditch. I couldn't hear anyone and I began yelling. My voice was hoarse and scratchy. Alley. I need to reach her.
I began looking for footholds in the side of the pit. I placed one foot and then another and then my arm. It was slow, but soon I reached the top. It was light blue sky, and the sun shown down. Sadly, everything was destroyed. Bodies littered the ground, and craters and smoke was everywhere.
The others were no where. They left me. Suddenly, a bark filled the air and Buddy ran to me. "Buddy!" I cried, and hugged him. "Where are they?" I asked. Buddy whimpered and licked my hand.
I petted him, and began my walk. My arm hurt, and I had a bad limp from breaking my leg. Buddy kept me up as I walked. It felt good to see the sun. The blue sky. I didn't know where I was going, but I kept walking. The buildings were caved in, and smoking.
I collapsed onto the ground and my leg throbbed. Buddy whined I nuzzled me. I moaned, and lay back on the ground. My mouth was dry, and my stomach growled. Buddy lay next to me and began licking my hand. I closed my eyes and rested.
I got up and began walking again, my mind set on Alley. Every step brought a ragged pain up my leg. "Buddy..." I whispered. He stood next to me and helped me trudge on. The heat blistered my back and skin as we walked. The smell of death haunted my nose.
My breaths became pants, and soon my pants began gasps. I soon took refuge in an abandon building. It was empty, and the windows were all broken. I lay in a corner and slept. It seemed like I slept for days when Buddy woke me.
"What?" I grunted, getting up. He whined and looked at the door. A man stood there. He had deep bloody cuts and a crazy look in his eyes. His hair was matted and dirty. He smiled and blood dripped from his mouth.
"George is hungry..." He muttered. I shivered and got up. "Hungry? So am I!" I said. He took a step forward, then another. "George... wants you!" He yelled and sprang forward. I got up and leapt away. He barreled past me, and into the wall. I picked up a metal bar and swung it.
"George is so hungry." He muttered. "Lay off the crack." I said. He grinned and ran forward. I swung the bar and hit his head with a satisfying THWACK! He stumbled back, and I ran out the door. Buddy followed, eyes trained ahead.
"George wants YOU!!!" He shouted, and began running after us.
My heart thumped in my chest as I ran. I could hear George behind me, laughing madly. Sweat seemed to seep from every pour I had. Buddy's tongue lolled from the side of his mouth.
George was still after us, so I turned and smacked his head with the bar. He crumpled to the ground. We bolted off, as far from the man as we could get. "What's wrong with him?" I asked Buddy. The dog panted and kept running. We soon found another building, and crept inside. A group was huddled around something.
They were eating. One turned and looked at me, and I gasped. Blood was smeared all over its face and hands. It smiled and turned back to its meal. The others are noisily, and me and Buddy crept back out. My heart hammered in my chest as we traveled through the heat.
"I'm so thirsty." I muttered, and fell to the ground. The world spun and I leaned back and closed my eyes.
I opened them to see Lizzie peering at me. "Hi." I said. She hugged me and helped me sit up. We were in a small room, and Nisha, Rico, Marco, Alley, Buddy and Brittany were all there. "Guys!" I said, and hugged Alley and then the rest of them.
"I love you Alley." I told Alley. I hugged her tight. I will never let her go. She smiled and laughed as I told her a joke. Rico sat near a fire, and told stories from the underworld. He was a son of Hades.
Alley sat back against the wall. She looked pale in the light and was sweating like crazy. "My head hurts..." She said.
