Count-Down

Sticks and stones

I quickly tapped my watch, and a shield sprang to life on my hand. My dad had killed a woman named Thalia Grace, and I inherited her shield. I ran to the nearest source of shelter, a million arrows hitting my shield like rain on an umbrella.
I got inside, and looked out the open door.
Bodies lay in the street, pierced in every area of their bodies by arrow. A few more arrows rained down, but not nearly as much as before.
When the rain stopped, I headed outside, stepping on a bunch of arrows. Every inch of Camp Jupiter was covered in thin black lines that pierced the ground like the pricks on a porcupine.
I walked over to a random body in the street.
The woman was in her early teens, only 12 or 13. Her blond pig tails were flung in all directions, arrows stuck through every inch of her body. Blood splattered the area around her, and I couldn't help but start to tear up.
"Allen!" A female voice called from behind me. I turned around and was met by my mother, worried as ever.
"What the hell happened mom?!" I yelled, running over to her.
"Get inside, now!" She screamed. We ran in the direction of our house. When we got there, my dad was looking over my sister in the doorway, checking for any wounds.
"Good, Reyna, your back!" My dad sad. "Are you okay?" My mom looked over at all of the arrows lodged in the ground.
"I'm fine. We need to get to aunt Alexis's house, okay?" She said to me and Emily. We both nodded our heads, walking out the door (With the shield over my head).

We finally made it to our aunts house, the roof covered in arrows. Mom knocked on the door, and we were greeted with a flawless, perfect face, a makeup covered face, and a blond ponytail.
"What happeded?" She asked, fixing her hair. "They came out of no where!"

"We need to go," mom said. "We have to leave camp Jupiter."
