The Augur and Me

As it fortunately turned out, Reyna wasn't mad at me at all. Far from it actually. As it unfortunately turned out, no one had any clue where Jason was.
For a few days I just stayed to myself. I didn't really eat or do anything. I was just scared and depressed, honestly. To make things even worse Octavian kept telling me that Jason had no memory of me whatsoever and had met a new girl. Oh, great.
I knew it wasn't true, it just sucked. A ton. Jason was gone and I couldn't figure out how to find or contact him. I had no idea what do to anymore. It was killing me inside.
One day, the strangest thing happened to me.
"Hey, Violet, will you please come talk to me..?" It was Octavian. Why was he not be talking to me in a derogatory way?
"Hmm, let me think about it. No." I turned on my heel and started walking away.
"No! Please don't leave! I just want to be nice... For once, I know. Why should you trust me? I know you probably want nothing to do with me, but we need to talk."
Well. That was about to softest and most sincere he'd ever sounded. I didn't want to trust him, but for some reason it was kind of hard not to.
I stopped and turned around.
"Fine," I sighed. "What do you want?"
"Everything I've been telling you about Jason... It's true, okay? I'm not trying to hurt you or anything, even though that sounds like something I would do. I care about you, honestly. I'm not trying to be a dick, I swear. Well, please just don't tell anyone about this. Maybe we can talk again sometime soon..." He slumped his shoulders and walked off.
What the hell was that about?! I still had so many unanswered questions, it was driving me crazy. There was now a new one on my list. What was up with Octavian?
