The Name Stealer
The Quest
Sky's POV
The daughter of the one with the power of snow,
Will find the home of the eternal glow,
One will be lost but the other will go,
You will find help in your most daunting foe,
Do not despair when your journey will end,
You will find what you seek in the least likely of a friend
That's the prophecy Rachel gave me. The daughter of snow is obviously Frost, but the home of the eternal glow? One will be lost, someone will find a foe, and some other stuff I don't exactly understand.
Well, we were at the borders of Camp, and we were taking our last glance of Camp before me, Frost, and Vincent walked out of the borders. I took a shaky breath, and walked out. It felt like a force field had been taken off of me, and I was completely vulnerable.
Oh. I guess I didn't tell you about Vincent. He's a son of Athena with a very interesting back story. (Author's Note: Read the description) He made me a bit uneasy, the way he dressed, and acted. I brushed the feeling aside and kept walking, in silence.
Frost's POV
The prophecy made me a little uneasy. I was the daughter of snow, but this was Sky's quest, not mine. But I'm mentioned in it, and she isn't. I couldn't shake the feeling of unease as we walked out of the borders.
"So, where are we supposed to be going again?" I asked.
"Were going to find the home of the eternal glow. Anyone know where that is?" Sky said, still walking forward, still looking forward.
"I do. It's in Olympus. Well, the ruins of the old Olympus. I think it's in Paris." Vincent said.
I turned to look at him. "We have to go to Paris, France?" I asked, completely bewildered.
"No. Paris Texas."
"So we have to travel across the country? In what, a day?" I asked, getting upset.
"No. We have to get to Texas in two days. It's not that hard. I can drive, as soon as we get a car." Sky said as we reached the road. We kept walking until we found a old truck by the side of the road.
"This is our ride?" Vincent asked flabbergasted.
"Yep. Hop in." I said, climbing into the back seat, and throwing my heavy sack in the bed of the truck. Vincent and Sky followed suit, and we were off. We were going to Paris, Texas.
Vincent's POV
As far as I can see, this day couldn't have gotten any worse. I've been dragged into a quest, had to walk for 4 miles, get a dumpy old smelling truck, and now were driving along the dirt road Sky's taking, getting dust everywhere.
I tried to brush some of it off, but just made it worse. I coughed as I inhaled some of the dust, bending over so I didn't breath up anymore. Sky whacked my back, trying to help I guess, but the only thing I got out of it was a bruise. Man, that girl can hit.
It was so hot, when I cranked up the AC, It didn't do anything. Frost helped by sending a gust of icy wind around the truck, and she tried freezing the AC unit, but it melted in seconds.
Man. Why does it have to be so hot? I thought to myself. Frost was blabbering on about something, and boy can she talk. She's like a machine gun. Come to think of it, she's a lot like Rachel.
Frost's white hair was flapping behind her as we drove along. Did I mention there were no windows? Ya. Her blue eyes were still icy cold, and her face was still like snow. How she was surviving the heat, I don't know.
Sky suddenly punched the brakes. I flew forward, hitting my head on the window, and getting a massive headache. As we came to a sliding stop, Sky flew out the door, not bothering to shut the door behind her.
I ran out to find the body of a girl laying on the road. "We need to get her to a hospital." I said, kneeling next to her, as her eyes opened slowly.
"No." She croaked, "My.. house is..... just over there." She pointed towards the forest. I lifted her up and walked into the woods, trying to find a house.
