Blog Post 18

Yancy is a TERRIBLE school. I had to attend there for a semester, undercover to find some reported Half-Bloods, and it was the worst semester of my life. I mean sure, I've got ADHD and dyslexia and it didn't help, but this girl, Nancy, is the school bully. Ugh.

She's been driving me crazy for WEEKS! The first day, she pushed over my wheel chair, and I smack her in the face for it, then I get in trouble. Me! I'm ranting. Her color was a burnt orange, which is never a good sign.

The two kids we were supposed to watch, we're twin sisters. Not identical, but it was close enough. They had brown hair, and green gray eyes and freckles dotting their noses.

Marie, the one I've been watching, cut her hair really short into a tight bob, she is always glittery, and wears lots of make up. Claire, the one Forest's been watching, has very long hair and normally braids it down her back. She never wears make up, and is normally wearing her brown leather jacket.

I don't think they're real close, because Marie ignores Claire and almost bashes her. I think Marie is a few minutes older, and she takes it way too far. Claire is shy, but not afraid to speak her mind. If she thinks something is unfair, she'll let you know.

Marie was in History class, the one class she shared with Claire, and I saw Marie passing a note to one of her friends from the popular clique, and her friend stifled laugh.

Claire kept looking back at them with a annoyed look. The teacher, Mrs. Kerr, whacked her long stick against the chalkboard, making everyone flinch. At the end of the class, I saw Marie throw the note at Claire, and walked off, hips shaking.

I was almost out the door, when I heard a low sob. I turned around and saw Claire, one hand covering her mouth, the other holding the note. She crumpled it up and shoved it in her pocket. When she turned around she gasped.

"Trixie! I, I didn't know you were there." She sounds shocked and slightly hurt.

"I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but why we're you crying? And what was on that note?" I ask, knowing perfectly well why she was crying.

She started wringing her hands nervously. "Um. I don't want to talk about it. Do you need help getting to the dorm?" She asked, changing the subject.

"No. I'm good thanks." I said, turning around and wheeling out with wave. I never see the note, but I can make a pretty good guess as to what was on it. The next day, the last day of the semester, in History, we get attacked by none other than the Chimera. Again? Yes. Again.

Mrs. Kerr was talking about the Greek myths, there not myths by the way, and she was talking about the monsters. Every time she said the name of one of the monsters, I felt myself cringe, looking around the room waiting for one of the big nasties to come crashing through. And because my luck sucks, one of them does.

I saw black air seeping through the door cracks, and give Forest a glance. She sees the look on my face and jumps up, out of her chair and tackles Claire out of hers, just as the door crashes and lands on Claire's desk. I press a button and my dagger flys up, I catch it, and toss it like a throwing knife at it.

The dagger bounces off it's collar, and I suddenly feel a searing heat. I smash the red button and my wheel chair creates a bubble of air, protecting me from the flames being blasted at me.
I send a force of air at it, pushing it out the hole in the wall, and crashing through another. I wheel over to
Marie, out of breath, and grab her hand.

"What the heck is going on?!" She says amidst the screams and smoke. "Uh, this probably isn't the best time to tell you. I promise I'll explain later, but right now, we need to get out of here." I say, pulling her along and grabbing Forest.

"The Chimera again? It really wants to eat you doesn't it?" She said as we quickly made our way along he hall.

"What can I say? Im delicious." I say, just as the wall I was rolling against explodes. I scream as I go flying through the air, and falling out of my chair. I land face first on the cheap carpeted floor, dizzy, and bruised. I shake my head and try and crawl away, but it's really hard when you can't use your legs.

I create a air shield just before it breaths fire. Even though the flames aren't touching me, I'm still hit with the incredible heat.

"Who are you people?" I hear Marie shout, the Chimera turning at the sound of her voice. I slowly inch my way to my wheel chair, trying to be as quiet as possible.

I hear a cold hollow laugh and almost freeze. Khione. "Do you like the little gift I sent you?" She laughs. "Ah daughter of Boreas. You think your life it hard now? Just wait till I'm through with you."

I jam a button on my chair, and suddenly I'm sitting in the chair, being jet propelled down the hallway. I almost crash into Forest and the twins, but instead I pick the up, and press a green button. The next thing
I knew, we were in the Big House. Claire and Marie just stood there like dead fish. The only way I knew they were alive, was their eyes.

Marie started throwing a temper tantrum, wondering why she almost died, why she was suddenly at a renaissance fair, and why her sister was touching her.

Let's just say when we found out their godly parent, I wasn't surprised. Can you guess? Aphrodite. Duh. Marie will fit right in. Claire is looking over my shoulder as I type this, I hope I'm not getting the facts wrong.

She's smiling so I guess not.
